I think we're seeing the results of him being finally able to speak his mind without impacting stadium game attendance. The paltry sum the current attendance provides his not worth his usual hemming and hawing to try and sound optimistic.

Every sports league is taking big hits because of COVID, it's not surprising. I mean, the NFL just cut their cap by like $30 million for 2021, so it kind of goes without saying.

What will really be fascinating is to see if free agents across the league just take 1 year deals in hopes of the cap getting back to normal in 2022 and hitting it again.

I think they will come to an agreement to spread that cap hit over time. The teams don't want to see that purge. Plus once covid passes and new TV contracts are done that cap numbers would jump crazily creating just an absurd free agent frenzy of players being overpaid. I'm sure they will want to take the two things and smooth it all out.
