I like the shit being thrown back in the players face, though I definitely hold both parties responsible. Let this ferment, and let it blow up. Nolan needs to go, and there are a fair amount of players that we definitely stand to move on from, and not just for financial purposes.

My biggest hope after Dak went down was that Dalton would play well. Not out of some misguided hope for this season, I didn’t even care about the Arizona game, but solely for the price factor. We need to get Dak as cheap as possible, and we absolutely have to be players in FA this offseason. I mean, Baltimore is out there giving up chump change for actual players like Peters, Campbell, and Yannick. The “splurge” for McCoy and Poe was a step in the right direction in terms of player acquisition, but they need to do a better/more aggressive job of pro personnel scouting.

Obviously the line needs help, but health has been an issue. And we saw Dak do well with more than substandard tackles. I wouldnt mind at all if we went full on Carolina and did nothing but address defense in the draft.

Pretty good breakdown. Pretty nice to feel like we nailed a fourth rounder. Now if only our RB wasn't a slow turd that doesn't break tackles anymore.

There needs to be a balance between fiscal responsibility and aggressively going after value in free agency.

All of the best organizations have been players in FA off and on, not every single year, but they all have made impact signings and given out large deals at one time or another over the last 3-4 years.

Guys like Poe and McCoy are steps up over the dumpster diving they've done in the past, but they need to pinpoint actual impact guys in the primes of their career like a DJ Reader or Javon Hargave last year, or someone like DJ Jones or Trey Hendrickson next year.

I watched the all-22 from the Browns and Giants games and Biadasz looks like a legit starter, maybe not a Pro Bowler but a long term starter. I haven't watched the Cards all-22 yet but I'm looking forward to seeing how McGovern did.

Totally agree on the balance, i’m not advocating some Dan Snyder-esque version of FA to be sure. But like I mentioned with Baltimore, they have been able to acquire marquee players without an abundance of expenditure, be it draft picks or even salary allotted. Of course, with our GM situation we will never reach those heights. And it’s funny you mention Reader and Hargrave, as those were the two players I coveted most in this previous cycle.

Giving up a third for Quinnen Williams would be a step in the right direction, if that is their price. Seems a little low for a second year 3rd overall pick, but as you already alluded to it’s the sort of long term move to make regardless of the standings. If this team wants to catapult up into the tier of true contenders next season, I fully believe widescale personnel changes are in order. It goes without saying, but coaches and players alike.

I think he has probowl ability. Probably not this year but I think he has cemented himself as the long term center. Physically he reminds me a lot of Frederick.

If I have one complaint it's that sometimes his shotgun snaps are little lollipop like. I think it's definitely something he can get better at that sometimes slows the QB down.

I'm not ruling it out by any means, I'm just saying it's not a slam dunk but either way I think you can pencil him in as a long-term starter.

As far as McGovern, I just watched the all-22 and he was probably above average in general. He only had about 4-5 reps that he clearly lost and the rest were either stalemates or wins, which is solid all things considered. He did a nice job 1 on 1 in pass protection against Jordan Phillips a few times and was generally solid in that regard aside from a few lapses in communication/feel passing off some stunts/twists with Steele. Of course that's to be expected and Steele is pretty much a piece of shit in general, so there's that.

In the run game he did a decent job walling off his man but he definitely lacks the pure power you'd like to see to consistently displace guys at the moment. All in all I thought he did well, and if we had our usual OL intact I'd feel comfortable with him starting a few games if need be, but with the unit in shambles I'm sure there will be busts in communication and there will be a few times where he's just overpowered and gives up negative plays and looks bad because he's just not totally there yet.

Early returns seem promising though and I 100% think that when Martin is back he should replace Steele, who just flops around like a fucking fish about 5-10 plays a game, and not McGovern. We'll see what happens against the Skins.

It's just nobody getting off blocks. Poe, Jaylon, Thomas, Wilson and probably Crawford all could've impacted the play and they basically just stayed blocked and couldn't shed (Poe/Crawford) or showed no aggressiveness attacking downhill (Wilson/Thomas/Smith).

As soon as Awuzie returns I'd cut Worley and bring in another CB. In fact, they should be scouring practice squads now. The effort should be focused sifting through practice squads of teams who actually do well drafting and finding hidden gems. You know, teams like the Ravens.

I'm not sure why the Cowboys are so hell bent on raiding the practice squads of loser franchises like the Browns.
