Jones would be an upgrade at backup QB, Butler I'm on the fence about but he would probably be an upgrade over Hurns.

I don't know about Butler being an improvement over Hurns.

Butler might be an improvement just because he'd provide a semblance of familiarity as far as chemistry with Dak goes amidst all the upheaval among the WR/TE groups.

I think he just brings a different skillset. We sort of have a lot of very similar receivers. Butler is more your big receiver with deep speed. We don't really have a guy like that. I think it's mostly about having a better redzone receiver and a guy who we can probably run slants and deep balls to.

How can they not sign Jones? Not that he's very good, but Rush is simply unacceptable.

I'm okay with Jones, at least he has actual pro experience as a starter and a backup. Doesn't bringing Butler back make it seven WRs on the roster, that's a little crazy. Maybe there's a trade in the works for TWill or someone, Hurns gets released, I don't know. The day I understand the rationale behind the Jones' roster churning will be the day I check myself in for observation because I've clearly lost it.

Isn't the trade deadline at the end of October?
