Schottenheimer sitting in on defensive meetings is like you fucking something up at work and your boss starts micromanaging everything.
If the defense continues playing this shitty I'm guessing Eberflus is gone during the bye.
I'll buy that with Murray, but Sanborn and James were both pet cat types for Eberflus and neither are seemingly very good.
Sanborn in particular can't do anything outside of about a 10x10 yard box, and James has shown some promise but has been plenty bad himself.
I can write off the play not...
That's probably part of it but Eberflus has a track record of getting high quality LB play out of late round picks, which is why I'm wondering if his whole defensive philosophy might just be outdated and that he's out of ideas.
I'm not saying that's definitely the case, but it's something I've...
The fact that our LB play is so shit, combined with the fact that it is Eberflus' speciality and he supposedly had a direct hand in bringing most of them in (Murray, Sanborn, James), tells me that his defensive philosophy might just be cooked.
"I would hope so. I would think so."
That's probably as close as you're going to get a HC to throwing a coordinator under the bus without firing them.
Eberflus has a generally good track record but he doesn't strike me as an imaginative type and he seems very married to his "schemes", which...
And whose fault is that?
LB is literally Eberflus' speciality.
He's done a great job with LB's throughout his career but the guy might just be out of ideas.
The NFL is all about making constant adjustments and maybe his simplistic Tampa-2 type bullshit has just stagnated and he can't adjust.
It feels ridiculous to say but if Zimmer was our DC we'd be significantly better right now.
Funny how he came back for a year and said fuck it, I'm going to marry a 40 year old and retire.
Theoretically Murray is somewhat at fault but any non-braindead DC has their far more talented CB pressed up much closer against a scrub ass WR and doesn't rely on a LB buzzing 10 yards diagonally to contest a quick slant.
There's literally no logic behind that coverage in that scenario.
Everything defensively is such a mess I'm hesitant to blame guys unless it's just painfully obvious that they're terrible.
Last year may have only been a function of having a big contract year and feasting off the attention given to Parsons, but I need to see him in a somewhat functional...
They lost Ragnow which was big, but obviously their coaching is far superior on the defensive side at least.
I feel really good about the offense now and moving forward, although I'd still have an eye on possible Dak replacements.
This is where I'm at, the talent is below average to average, not the worst in the league by a country mile and yet that's the results we're getting while every single unit looks completely clueless.
I think it's about 70% scheme/coaching and 30% talent.
And hell, the Giants probably were a bottom 3 offense when Wilson was starting and they let him roll up a career high in passing yards.
I don't even care about the play on the field anymore, it's so fucking bad someone needs to pay in blood, and that's Eberflus.
At least last year Zimmer...
The offense got the lead 3 times today and everytime they got the ball back they were either trailing or tied.
Up 10-3, defense let Carolina go right down to tie it up 10-10.
Up 17-10, the defense let them score a FG before half, the offense got the ball with about 15 seconds left before...
Their playcalling was such predictable bullshit and they still ripped off an easy 7-8 yards almost every time they ran on first down.
There was one TD drive where I believe they only passed once, for about 3 yards, and ran about 7 times for around 60 yards.
That's how I know the issue is...
Packers offense can barely muster anything against a horrendous Bengals defense after looking like the 1999 Rams against us two weeks ago.
Seems to be a trend.
