The other side of that is why should a player like Dak Prescott care? Why shouldn't he use his leverage to milk every last cent he can out of these greedy rubes?
I'm sure this is how a lot of the players feel. Why sacrifice my money if the money isn't going to be used to try and win a Superbowl. If things continue the way they are I'm sure we will continue to have player contracts drag out and drag out. It didn't used to be that way. But the more Stephen takes over the more I think players can see the obvious. Which is the team isn't going to reinvest those savings into getting new players to try and win. They are just going to continue to draft and sign the franchise level guys while letting the others walk. No need to give the Cowboys extra cap savings if that's all that is going to happen.

Other teams strike a balance because they have a GM that knows they could be fired if they don't do those things. You know McCarthy has had 3 straight 12 win seasons but is sitting here on the brink of being fired for not doing anything in the playoffs. You know who isn't on the brink of being fired for not making the moves necessary to get over the hump? Our general manager. Because he has no risk of losing his job. He doesn't care about winning it all, he cares about winning enough to keep fans interested. The only way he is fired is if the team loses money to the extent that it's no longer profitable for the family. There is a different criteria of success for our GM compared to every other NFL team. Because our GM in reality is the owners kid.

Yeah, when you're not in fear of losing your job, the objectives, clearly change.

Nah, old Patrick no C over here got caught for being an idiot. Prince is the offensive passing game coordinator, clearly, while Whitt was the defensive passing game coordinator, a role that doesn't exist on paper today.
It is more likely he has no idea what Prince’s role will be.

The tweet literally has Prince listed under "offense", you'd have to be a pure moron to not figure out what that role is vs. what Whitt was last year.

This is a very strange look for a coaching staff.

There is not a lot of integrity to the whole design and it just is frightening to see roll out in real time all off-season.

Now Prince a title that did not exist last year and they hired the BC guy as a run game coordinator.

These are probably also one-year deal things too.

This is more a cut-rate circle the wagons thing and Fat Mike is going to be left to try to coach his way out of this mess.

They promoted Harris to keep his head in it and Zimmer has a close group of confidants.

At the end of it all, a lot of the players are going to be dirt cheap and the staff will be betting on themselves because the Joneses see a bad storm of contracts coming and fear what they will pay for the talent.

It is a rebuild disguised as business as usual.

I can honestly say I am not aware of any team in NFL history that has had success with that kind of model and won anything.

Agree. Clusterfuck waiting to happen. Bunch of fags on one year coaching deals that will pack it in and start shilling for new jobs if things start going bad

No RB. Dowdle has never held up over a full year even as a part time player.

OL in shambles. No LT or maybe no LG...where ever Smith doesn't line up. No center. Aging all timer RG. RT who fucking sucked last year.

DL not much better imo. Unless you think Simple Sam can step up at DE. If not then Parsons is there a lot. The only legit DT we have is 280.

LB has one decent vet. Hey, maybe this is Clark's year. Overshown....JUST LIKE A NEW DRAFT PICK

Lastly, superstar CB coming off a major injury that others on this team haven't shown good recovery from.

We are going to suck hard. This is a tank job. We already couldn’t stop the run now we can’t stop the run or sustain drives.

I have no idea why you are talking about silly things like this.

Every team is different. And stuff.

Nah. Still too much talent on the team for that to happen. And guys like Armstrong, Gallimore and Fowler can be replaced with reasonable facsimiles. But the point is to close the gap on elite teams like Frisco, and that's a pipe-dream at this point.

We could draft another end and they could be this again:

Taco's "I promise to work hard" pledge should've been seen as a huge red flag. Thanks for nothing, Marinelli.
