do you think it's appropriate and or offensive to refer to Asians or the color of their skin as being yellow?
So, would whiteskins be acceptable? I'm seriously asking.

I've not seen any evidence to the scenario you're suggesting, though now that I think about it I am highly offended at how Rowdy portrays my race.
In the summer of 2020 there was talk on at least DFW radio about whether "Texas Rangers" should be changed. Because they were law enforcement and didn't do everything perfectly back in the day.

God, dude, really?

So, if one white person took offense to the word cracker, would that need to go, too?
You do know the origin of the term cracker, yes? I certainly wouldn't want someone referring to me as one, because that associates me with that culture and I don't want that.

I'm sure that was somewhat in jest considering all the noise around the Redskins/Commanders at the time and the "defund the police" movement that was around. But nobody would take that request seriously unless some sort of actual harm was proven.

No, it wasn't in jest at all.

That's a good question.

I don't know what the exact number would be but for me I'd have to say about a quarter (25%), give or take, before any widespread changes (like changing the Redskins name) would be in order.
Nine in 10 Native Americans say they are not offended by the Washington Redskins name, according to a new Washington Post poll that shows how few ordinary Indians have been persuaded by a national movement to change the football team's moniker.

The survey of 504 people across every state and the District reveals that the minds of Native Americans have remained unchanged since a 2004 poll by the Annenberg Public Policy Center found the same result. Responses to The Post’s questions about the issue were broadly consistent regardless of age, income, education, political party or proximity to reservations.

So now people who have felt slighted for generations are feeling more empowered to speak up more.
Is this your opinion or the opinion of the actual people "slighted"? Because, there lies the issue. It's none of your damn business, to be frank.

Then outlaw it. One person is offended, so ban the use of the word. See where I'm going?

I have a daughter with an intellectual disability and people hate the word "retard". I don't give one shit about that word. Mainly, because it's just a fucking word.

No, I don't think it's appropriate.

It may not sound overly offensive, but it's certainly not appropriate.

I mean, who the hell would think it be ok to go around calling people "X-color skin"?

:lol

I have no dog in the fight, but I have no problem speaking my mind in support of those that do.

I agree with you at the core of that sentiment. Words don't bother me as much as they do others. But words can be powerful weapons for some and hurt a lot of people. So I'd just see us not use them and not be assholes to each other rather than debating whether its fair to use it or not.

It would be amazing if a new franchise called the Crackers was introduced to the NFL and ended up in the NFC East and became a Cowboys rival.

That means I could yell out "Fuck those crackers" with impunity!

This would only be for sporting purposes, of course.

But, the people in that demographic DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT. I don't know how many times I have to say it. You are getting offended for other people that aren't offended for the same thing.

Yes, but where is the damn line? How many words will get "outlawed" before it's all said and done.

But do you think there aren't other parents or loved ones of children with mental handicaps that don't care for that term?

I'd be willing to bet that there are.
