Truth is there are far better grounds to go after most of those people. At least you could form a coherent reason to charge them. The sad truth is in America being charged with a crime isn't particularly difficult. We all say free speech is allowed but there are a lot of statutes state to state that make free speech a crime if someone claims it disturbed their peace, harassed them or caused them emotional distress.

So 34 counts of falsifying a business record... And what I don't get is in order to charge these it has to be in the furtherance of another crime. But no other crime was charged that I can see.

It's like the equivalent of charging someone with burglary (Basically trespass with intent to commit a crime) but without having a crime charged that they committed or intended to commit. That's beyond ridiculous, especially when you charge someone with that many counts. Anyway, the indictment is a joke from my perspective. Considering most of what I do is criminal defense I'd like to think I can recognize BS when I see it.
