HSO again but I finally went in one of the mega-Buc-ees north of Houston and was kind of underwhelmed. Probably just too much buildup. Jillions of people though.

But I almost think I've been in one of the first, maybe even the first(?) Buc-ees in Lake Jackson... Just a normal looking convenience store. /csb
Have you been to some of the others, I35 to Austin, Denton or Terrell?

Blackeyed peas are not good.
Totally agree. I think they taste like dirt. But I guess some people who've eaten them their whole lives like that. :shrug

I read lots of comments saying things like the purple ones are not just better, but much better... and how they don't know anyone who after trying the purple ones like the blackeyed ones better. Just wondering if anyone here had tried them.

Nope... I actually haven't been down I-35 in a long time. I've seen that huge one east of Denton, though.

The more I think about it, I bet that one on I-45 wasn't one of the newest ones. It still had like 50 gas pumps but the bathrooms weren't even anything special.

Just not my thing I guess. I'm not big on beans in general. I do like some red beans and rice, though. Or black beans in some Tex Mex stuff.

It amazes me how nobody knows how to drive a stick. I learned on it, but unless you specifically want it, they just don’t make them.
I've talked looking for a used car and I'll only accept a manual. It's amazing how many times even dealers get it wrong. I bet 70% of cars listed on the used car sites with a MT aren't actually a manual. So frustrating.

I taught my middle child how to drive starting in a manual. The other two I am just happy that they keep the car between the correct set of lines.

it is a dying way of driving. There is something gratifying about driving stick but automatic transmissions can outperform the. With the newer technology
