We've had many food talks here, especially southern food debates. So here's a serious question for you southern food experts.

My dad loves blackeyed peas, so today we want to plant some. But our usual farm store hasn't gotten them in yet for some reason. The usual chain stores didn't have any either. So at a different farm store we found some. But after buying them, I find they're California purplehulls. Now I see online there's some debate -- some say these are basically blackeyed peas, but the real connoisseurs say the purple hulls taste a little different. Actually, practically everyone says the purplehulls taste better than the very "earthy" blackeyed.

So... Any thoughts? Anyone eat these and can compare? Are they really blackeyed peas (as in he wouldn't notice a difference) or something different?

I have only seen it as I pass by the hayseed convenience stores.

Sorry I never stoop to gas station food. It better be a finer food establishment like Buc-ee’s.
Gas Station Chicken freaks me out a little. Chicken can't stay in a warmer all day.

Now Casey's breakfast pizza, I'm down for.

Gas station food freaks me out almost all of the time.
There was one where I live that had an older woman working it and her hands had all kinds of cuts and scabs.

HSO again but I finally went in one of the mega-Buc-ees north of Houston and was kind of underwhelmed. Probably just too much buildup. Jillions of people though.

But I almost think I've been in one of the first, maybe even the first(?) Buc-ees in Lake Jackson... Just a normal looking convenience store. /csb

We have a Buc-ees coming to SE VA probably in 2024/25. I've heard that their food is second to their clean bathrooms. True?

Their bathrooms are amazing. Each urinal is almost it's own stall and there are a lot of them. They have always been clean when I've gone.

So privacy and cleanliness. The best options you can have for a public bathroom.

Imagine this country without Texas and all the gifts we give to the nation.

You're all welcome.

Blackeyed peas are not good.
