against the likes of Hurts, Purdy/Lance, Cousins, Daniel Jones, Goff and maybe Stafford if the Rams can bounce back would certainly be enough to move on from Dak once his deal is up.
In 2016 Dak was the guy who didn't fuck things up, and now those guys are Hurts and Purdy while Dak clearly lost the game yesterday with those bad plays esp. timed with Pollard's loss.

Did you really have a problem with the coaching this year, other than Moore's antiquated system?

Dak, I don't blame the team for signing him. He's a good QB, just not elite. I don't think the team has done anything wrong with him up to this point. Now if Jerry insists on keeping him for years to come despite performances like last night's, I'll be with you.

Zeke is the one who is a definite Jerry pet. He let Zeke take him to the cleaners on the contract and he can't/won't admit it.
All true. I'm just saying that Jerry is more restricted than other teams are in making changes, if changes become necessary. Moore should go, but he probably won't unless he gets hired away. So should Zeke, unless he takes a huge pay cut. But Jerry is personally invested in Moore and Zeke.

Your points about Dak are true, although 2016 was a better opportunity and so was 2007.
I don't agree with that.

We came out flat as shit and choked like we have for most of our playoff eliminations. So I don't think that 2016 team had the character to make a real run.

But this team did. This team and the 2014 team are the only ones that I didn't leave me feeling like we were choking ass bitches.

The 2014 and this team didn't lose because they choked. They lost because they just left opportunities on the field and sadly the margins for error are slim at this time of the year.

I don't feel that way about 2016 even if that was a winnable game.

Pretty much, the only hope this team has with Dak is building a team around him like Hurts and Purdy have, very strong lines on both sides of the ball and run-oriented offenses.

And that's much harder to build with 40 million tied up in Prescott's contract.

Mediocre QB's like Prescott and Cousins are the Devil Incarnate. Always tease but can't carry you forward when most needed. I was hoping Dak would ride his confidence moving forward, but he clearly blew his wad against the Bucs.

Better to have a young kid in there with a promising arm and strong legs and build a super-team from the inside out around him.

why didn't Malik Davis get some carries after TP went down? I dont get it, he's got more than Zeke even.
He missed a key pass protection assignment that only by minor miracle didn't result in a serious loss of yardage.

Yea that's pretty much where the Eagles are at in terms of building a strong roster around a young QB that's going balls to the wall, although I don't think it'll last long.

Basically their style is going to have a much higher ceiling and a much lower floor over a several year stretch, while we're likely to kind of just consistently meander year to year around 10-11 wins but never really advancing far enough in the playoffs with Dak shitting the bed like yesterday.

In an ideal world we'd be in position to trade up for Maye next year but that's an extreme long shot.

The Joneses are stubborn, hard to picture them effectively admitting they were wrong about Prescott, even with just one year left on his contract by then.

Everybody thought we'd give up an easy 30 to the 49ers, the defense really only gave up 16 and 4 of those came thanks to a so-so holding call on Wilson that gave them a 1st down at the 10 instead of a FG attempt.

Shame that the offense and Dak couldn't do anything more to help them.

Another random thought, but it's pretty obvious that the defense kind of mailed it in at points during the regular season.

They were awesome in both playoff games and played like they did over the first half of the year, and were even surprisingly solid against the run. Part of that was LVE and Hankins coming back, but it's also pretty obvious that they simply lost focus/motivation at times, particularly against the Texans but also against the Packers and even the Colts before the barrage of turnovers in the 4th.

Either way, it was good to see them getting back to how they played earlier in the year, especially since it seems like Quinn should be back.

I think what they were going for theoretically makes sense with getting OL out on the perimeter to actually block a bit during the chaos, but whatever they were going for was obviously horrendously executed.

I think LVE's presence made a lot bigger difference than most people believe.

I'm all for bringing him back, he's basically the QB of the defense.
