Was in the car for a few minutes and Sturm was saying he'd make the move because Tyler has been kind of shaky lately.

Really? When was that?

And besides, Tyron has been shaky the last couple of years at times, too. He's not necessarily the HOFer we all think of anymore.

Like C-Rock said, I guess the forcing of Collins back in the lineup is still fresh in my mind.
If we get past the Giants on Thursday, the schedule gets pretty soft until the rematch with the Eagles. (Colts, Texans and Jaguars) If Tyron can get back in that stretch, you can see what he has and it might be the best lineup for the playoffs. If not, we've got two outstanding backup tackles with Peters and Smith.

I really wish Tyron Smith was healthy before the trade deadline. Probably could have gotten a 3rd or 4th round pick for him.

I wouldn't mess with it.
I agree, people ignore continuity. Today was a perfect example. McGovern and Smith were combo blocking perfectly and getting to the second level on the left side. Martin and Steele have been doing it to perfection on the right side.

When you basically change 2 guys on the left side of the line you're starting from scratch on continuity all over again.

I like how McCarthy has put his signature on this team. If he can reign in Kellen from letting Dak throw it 40 times we have a shot. Alot of people wanna give credit to Quinn but I give credit to McCarthy for sticking to the plan. We didn’t let Dak screw us and that’s how we need to play from now on.

McGovern has been playing well. Better than we expected. But if Smith and Smith are looking good together in practice, I think the two of them together could be dynamic. That is a LOT of power side by side.

And if it's not working, we could always go back. But if it is? We could go from a good running offense to a great one. We already have an excellent duo on the right side that smash people together. Now imagine if we could have that on both sides of the line. We wouldn't be a predictably right handed running team, going behind Steele and Martin the majority of the time. Defenses don't know where to stack on expected running plays.

For me, it wasn't just the stats.... It was the eye test.

He just looked like he was in the zone.

Everything was perfect.
Yeah when Dak is on he can be really good. When he gets off though it can be ugly. Today he was on. And I loved that he wasn't afraid to use his legs to get yards or convert a first down. He can't play scared because it throws him way off.

I'm kind of over the whole OBJ recruiting thing. Seems like he's just dragging this out for the attention.

And I'm willing to bet that he won't make much of an impact this year. Learning a new scheme midseason plus coming back from a major injury just screams 3 catches for 24 yards per game.
