No offense to Dennis Houston and I hope he turns into an outstanding receiver, but this happens every year. Maybe it’s something particular to the WR position that makes it easier to stand out in camp, I dunno. But every year there seems to be guy that tears it up and then fades away.

That being said, due to the ineptitude of the front office, he has an opportunity to get reps and create an opportunity for himself.

This is a bit sacrilegious but I think he's going to be better than Ware. He's looked way more comfortable and fully integrated in terms of each step of his pass rush (get off, plan, hand use, bend to close) and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he puts up 15-20 sacks and wins DPoY.

Either that or blocking schemes are going to key in on him big time and someone like Lawrence is going to have a monster year.

Yep, to all the negative and pessimistic -- some justified -- posters on here... the team is worth watching for Parsons alone.

Who was the supposed standout last year at WR in camp? Fehoko was the only one I remember, and the talk was mostly of him needing more time to develop.

you must not have heard the fanfare the last 3/4 days about his performance leap. he's drawing strong reviews the last several practices.

I think you may be misunderstanding what he said. He was talking about last year.

Houston may not have enough talent to be a good player, who knows. But everyone says he really knows the offense and is always in the right spot. Grier said this is a pretty complicated offense with lots of kills and checks, and it stands out on tape when you see a young guy who does the right thing over and over and over. So at least he's smart and is studying hard, which is worth something.
