All I said is that there's a good chance they'll have two high picks next year and its easier to land a stud in the Top 5 compared to the teens. You responded by going into Super Fan mode and getting huffy. Never said they were more talented than us overall. Never said they were winning the division. I like Jones more than some people. So what? I think we'll split with them because that's usually happens with divisional opponents, even when one of them is "inferior." It's not the end of the world.
Yea, having two top 5 picks is obviously the best way to get two really good players, that much is obvious.

My point is that you seem to always look on the bright side when it comes to our divisional opponents yet have your ass on your shoulders when it comes to the Cowboys, when it's clear that we are light years beyond everyone else in the division, and particularly the Giants. They're a fucking train wreck and might not even win 4 games this year, and your first thought is about how they're going to have high draft picks (in a very weak QB class when that is their biggest need). That's why I brought up how you overrated their offensive talent only like 2 weeks ago, because you seem to continuously give these teams the benefit of the doubt.

You never know what could happen in any given game, so sure, maybe they beat us once, but we could realistically have the division wrapped up with like a month to go and yet you still fret about the "talent" of a bottom 5 team in the league.

Noting that the Giants tend to shoot themselves in the foot is hardly praise. Remember that fake FG for a TD in Dallas that was negated by penalty last year? That sort of thing. Nor is it controversial to state that:

1) It's never good for a divisional opponent to have two Top 10 picks.
2) It's doubly bad if someone other than Gettleman is making those picks.

No, it's certainly not good, but it's also part of the deal when you're a shit team and you traded out of your high pick last year, moved down and took a guy who seems destined to be a bust in Toney.

It is what it is, and the fact that they don't have a franchise QB, and are extremely unlikely to get one in this year's draft makes it a lot easier to deal with.

How many top 10 picks have the Jaguars had in the past decade, and are still the worst team in football?

You still have to have a competent front office and a competent player development program.

The rest of the division will eventually get better. That's inevitable. No use fretting about it.

Yea, it's inevitable, but as always QB is the key and the longer we can hold off on having any other legitimate QB's in the division, the better. And the Giants (or the Eagles or the Skins) don't seem to have much of a chance at finding a legitimate QB in this draft whether they have 1, 2, or 6 top 10 picks.

The Giants themselves have had top 10 picks the last four years, right? Hasn't helped them much yet.
More or less, they took Jones, Barkley, and Thomas top 10 in the last few years, so a QB/RB/LT, and I believe at some point in the last 3 or so years they had 3 1st's. And yet they're pretty solidly a bottom 5, certainly bottom 10 team in the league right now.

Like yea, if they luck into a great GM in the next year or two and they hit on their two top 10 picks (if the Bears pick even ends up that high) and find a QB and rebuild the OL and so on and so forth, they'll be good to go.

But it's far more likely that only some, or even none of that happens, and they just continue as a middling franchise.

Yep, exactly.

And hell. Even if there was a supposed stud QB coming out this year, how often in the past has that actually derailed?

The Eagles took a QB 2nd overall and it wasn't a reach or anything. Yet the best QB that year came from the 4th round.

Even a guy like Andrew Luck who was maybe the biggest can't miss QB prospect of the past however many years didn't take the Colts very far.

The Giants have a long way to go, as does the rest of the division. I'd far, far rather be in our position than theirs. They can have their two firsts. The Eagles can have whatever theirs ends up being. They'd both trade it right now for Dak.

Exactly. The Jags have had 10 top 10 picks in the last 10 years. It hasn’t gotten them anywhere.

Andrew luck was always overrated, IMO. Kinda like Trevor Lawrence has been.

Agreed.

Luck was good but not an all timer like he was supposed to be. Same will probably be true of Lawrence, who like you I'm not high on.

For sure, and on top of Dak I'd argue that we clearly have the most young talent (under 25-26 or so) in the division aside from the Skins.

The Eagles and Giants barely have any promising young players, while the Skins have a decent group with McLaurin/Gibson and their DL, which is comparable to what we have in Parsons/Lamb/Diggs, etc.
