Steele will tell us a lot about this coaching staff, if he's a complete bust who looks barely improved over last year it'll show that they're happy to bury their heads in the sand for their pet cats. If he's progressed to simply being a below average starting player then you'll have to give them a bunch of credit.

Philbin is a generally solid OL coach so I'm just hoping they're right.

Just caught the McCarthy PC live. Sounds like Hooker is going to play even with Kazee. Not sure what all he can do since he's more of a FS, but sounds like he'll find a way to work in there.

Golston practiced full yesterday... today is a big day for him as it's his first day in pads. (When did they change it so that Thursday is the heavy practice day?)

Sounds like they really love Steele. Mike said he's one of those guys they'll probably use as an example of making the big second year jump. Maybe he'll be okay?
Playing Hooker/Kazee together can definitely work. While both are more FS than SS they're both decent tacklers and Kazee is used to being closer to the LOS/in the box since was a CB coming out of college and spent plenty of time in the slot.

I'm sure Kearse will rotate in as a box safety as well, but I'd like to see Hooker/Kazee get the majority of the pure safety reps.

That's because his mistakes were so glaring in the first half last season. If all you had to go on was the second half at wouldn't be as scary to you.

Just let it play out and see.
Texas Tech player that I don't see a bunch of fans saying RAIDER!!!!! about tells me a lot.

He was pretty good when he was at Tech but I just think he is having issues adjusting to the speed of the NFL.

Dont go off my lack of Raider power. I really don't get a chance to watch them anymore since Im smack in the middle of Baylor/shorthorn country. Top that off with them not being good for several years now and their TV exposure is not so good for me. I really didnt know much about him other than he went there.

If they can't figure out how to contain one elite edge rusher the coaches can fuck right off.

The Chargers don't have anybody opposite Bosa who can make you pay for doubling him, their DT's are average, and we still have two future HOF'ers on the line, so figure it out.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Chargers odds, picks and predictions: Expert predictions for Week 2 game

LANDOVER, MARYLAND - SEPTEMBER 12: Justin Herbert #10 of the Los Angeles Chargers makes a pass against the Washington Football Team at FedExField on September 12, 2021 in Landover, Maryland. (Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images)

By The Athletic NFL Staff Sep 16, 2021

The Chargers had one of the stranger line movements in week 1, starting as favorites and closing as the underdog. That ultimately didn’t matter as Los Angeles beat the Washington Football Team 20-16 on the road. Justin Herbert threw a go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter and overcame a two-turnover afternoon by running the final 6:43 off the clock to preserve the win, including four third-down conversions to extend the drive. The Chargers opened as three-point favorites at home against the Cowboys in Week 2.

Dallas was on its way to 1-0 before Tom Brady orchestrated a winning drive late to sink the Cowboys 31-29. It would be easy to panic over Ezekiel Elliott’s 33 rushing yards or the 431 yards conceded to the Bucs. But Dak Prescott looked great in returning from a dislocated ankle that ended his 2020 season after five games. Prescott threw the ball 58 times, completing 42 passes for 391 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. The defense’s four takeaways is also a positive sign moving forward.
