The defensive talent hasn't been "great" for a while, but it's certainly been "good enough" several seasons recently. The fact that we're trying to get back to "good enough" should tell you how bad the talent cratered defensively last season.

Not to mention the numbers alone make it abundantly clear. I don't recall giving up 30+ points weekly, pretty much ever.

Maybe that was... uh... coaching? The talent from one year to the next wasn't that different sans Byron Jones out and Diggs in.

I was mildly disappointed we did not invest in a back for the draft. Not early mind you, but better than Dowdle.

Ever since Parcells was here I've preferred a 3-4.

Nowadays I think the best you can do is not be vanilla and I have hope for Quinn in that regard.
