I'm sure the dudes fast but I'm having a really hard time buying all these forty times as accurate. Not that it matters much, so the guy is probably a 4.3 something on a fair track. It's still impressive speed. But teams will have to evaluate tape over workouts this year more than ever before which is probably best. But everyone is going to do that so it won't help us particularly much.
I want this guy.
The question is: what are you willing to sacrifice to get him? Since he won’t be taken at 10, are you willing to give up a premier talent at 10 and trade down for him, or are you willing to give up draft picks to trade back into the 1st round for him, which means losing out on a starting CB?I want this guy.
I've already answered this. I said ideally I'd like to trade down a bit and take him, but would seriously consider even taking him at ten if there were no takers. I think the talent gain we'd get with him vs taking somebody like Surtain would be greater. We can get a corner in the second or third that isn't a huge dropoff from the top 2 CBs.The question is: what are you willing to sacrifice to get him? Honestly, I think the real value at CB is in the 2nd round, anyway. I’d sooner drop dead than take Moehrig at 10, though. I love the guy, but there will be other far more talented players at 10.I've already answered this. I wouldn't target him at 10, either. I would love to drop down to say the 15-20 range and pick up a couple picks, then take him there.I agree they shouldn't take him at 10.
I'm all for dropping back a bit though. He should be in play then, but they shouldn't target him or anyone else.
Truthfully though I will be rather surprised if we don't stay at 10 and take Surtain or Farley.
Given the moves we have made in the defensive backfield, I don't see us going in that direction.I wouldn't target him at 10, either. I would love to drop down to say the 15-20 range and pick up a couple picks, then take him there.
But even if we did for some reason take him at 10, (which I am about 99.99% certain would never happen) I wouldn't be upset over it. I think Moehrig is a damn good player. One that would solidify us in the backend for the next 10 years. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him come off the board at 15 or so. So, yeah. 10 would be a bit of a reach. But not nearly as much of one as people think right now.
I think it was Simp that gave the Fredbeard example. People were shocked where we took him. But fans and analysts alike quickly forgot all about that once they saw his impact on the field. I think that fits this situation really well.
Yeah, I've been expecting us to take either Surtain or Farley for quite a while now. If they were there. Looking like at least one will be now.Given the moves we have made in the defensive backfield, I don't see us going in that direction.
Pretty clear right now, we will go after the best boundary corner available at 10.
Chances are, we will have our pick of any. In fact, we might even have our pick of best defensive player available overall.
Denver used to be a stumbling block for corner. Now they have Fuller, I don't see that as an issue anymore.
I don't see the connection with Parsons, in fact, given the scheme we will be running, it would be retarded. Slater, I can because of Tyron Smith.I wouldn't rule out Slater but yea if we go defense at 10 it would seem to be a CB.
I just hope that they'd look to move down first, and if not, maybe move up from the 2nd for a front 7 player since I think the late 1/early 2 area could be a sweet spot for our needs.
LB is a mystery though, nobody knows how the organization truly views Jaylon (or LVE's health for that matter) and it's possible this year is an inflection point, and if so they may want to get out ahead of it with Parsons.
He'd obviously be a Jaylon/LVE replacement but knowing how this team operates I don't see them planning that far ahead and creating an awkward logjam for this season.I don't see the connection with Parsons, in fact, given the scheme we will be running, it would be retarded. But it is pretty clear, everything points towards CB at this stage.
I don't think they would complicate things that much. He'd obviously be a Jaylon/LVE replacement but knowing how this team operates I don't see them planning that far ahead and creating an awkward logjam for this season.
