TL; DR version. Hurts seeing Wentz after hearing about the trade...

The Eagles are still in desperate need of a QB. I know there are a handful of idiots who are excited about the Hurts era, but I'm not sure what they're seeing. He was 1-3 as a starter and only completed 52% of his passes.
Which is exactly why he needs to remain their starting QB.

I think the spark had more to do with Hurts & Wentz's personalities than their talents. It's been widely reported dating back to 2019 that Wentz was unpopular in the Eagles locker room.

If those reports are true, it was probably a breath of fresh air to be playing with a QB who they actually respected.
It was more than that. He played well vs Green Bay, Zona and the Saints, had a big lead on us early, and could've won the Washington game if the coach left him in. Plus, he was a winner at two different programs in college. I hope he fails, but he's got a little sizzle.

What have you been smoking? He was horrible against GB and us, and not good against NO either.

Hypothetically if the Colts aren't in the playoff hunt is there any reason they shouldn't bench Wentz to prevent giving up the first round pick? I certainly would. Although I think with their defense and head coach they will be in contention.

He came off the bench in GB and turned a laugher into a close game before Aaron Jones put it away with a long run. And his legs (106 yards rushing) were huge in the upset vs the Saints. I know you hate the Eagles but you gotta be a little more fair-minded. He showed a lot of good things in his short audition, and Philly obviously agrees.

The common theme in every game Jalen Hurts started was fast starts and shitty finishes. In each of those games he played pretty well in the first half then after about a quarter and a half teams figured him out and shut him down the rest of the way.

It's very similar to what happened with him at Oklahoma. At OU he was outstanding the first half of the season but as the season went on teams figured him out and Oklahoma's passing game took a big dip. And if you go back to his days at Bama, you see the same struggles...him holding the ball too long and not processing information quickly enough.

To use a baseball analogy.....all Hurts has is a good fastball. But no matter how good your fastball is if you don't have an offspeed pitch to compliment that 100 MPH fastball hitters are going to light you up. I've watched Hurts for over 4 years and from what I've seen, especially against quality competition, I doubt he'll ever develop that "offspeed pitch".

Sorry. I'll get back to LOLing.

But to be fair, my post was meant to point out that they're FUBAR at the QB position.

Just to drive home my point about Hurts' poor play in the 2nd half of games.

1st Half: 555 pass yards, 59% comp, 5 TDs, 1 INTs, 3 sacks, 8.4 ypa, 219 rushing yards

2nd Half: 506 pass yards, 46% comp, 1 TD, 3 INTs, 10 sacks, 6.2 ypa, 135 rushing yards
