I honestly want to know what the Jags expected of Doug Marrone. They stripped away every decent player from the roster over the last couple of years.

I think a better question would be why hire the guy in the first place?

A .500 record at Syracuse.

A losing record before quitting in Buffalo.

And a pathetic 23-43 record with Jacksonville.

They got what they signed on for. That franchise has zero direction, starting at the top.

Because he was buddies with Coughlin. Seemed like TC wanted a near-puppet who would run the team exactly the way he ordered.

I thought he did a pretty good job with a rookie QB. I think that Chargers probably should have considered giving him another year.
I think that several gameday blunders did him in, unlike a certain Redhead who used to coach in Dallas who Jerry Jones still has a crush on. I'm too classy to names names.

Yeah I get it and their special teams were awful. But I wouldn't want to fire a coaching staff and make my good looking rookie QB sort of start over.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think Herbert was just that good. If anything, Lynn's baffling decision not to play the rookie sooner is another strike against him. If Taylor wasn't 'injured' by a team doctor, who knows when Herbert would have gotten the opportunity? It was easy to see from the moment the kid took the field that he was infinitely better than Taylor ever was.

Herbert can't be too attached to Lynn's offense at this point. And I think the kid's abilities transcend any potential impact of a change anyway, but that's just my opinion.

I wonder if it hurt him that Rivers went to Indy and suddenly looked pretty decent after looking totally washed the year before in SD LA.
