Bingo. If they could win five of their last seven with this ragtag group, that would really speak well to McCarthy and the confidence the players will have in him going forward. This was the conclusion to the season that I had hoped for but then thought was lost after that awful performance on Thanksgiving.
No matter if we make it into the playoffs or not, the mission has been accomplished -- McCarthy has the team finishing the season on a positive and he's got the trust of the players too.
I think those are going to be key factors in us having a successful season in 2021.
excellent point, I see no downsideIf it works, sure, why not?
The same thing happened his first year in Green Bay, they started like 4-8 and won their last 4 I believe, then went into the next season with momentum and made the NFC Championship.Bingo. I won't mind much if Washington wins next week as long as Dallas wins. This feeling is so much better for everyone -- but especially for the players -- than the team being in disarray like it was earlier in the year.
Geez, if Garrett was still coach they'd be 3-12/4-11 at best.

Where is that being debated? I must have missed it.There’s no doubt McCarthy is a better coach than Garrett so I’m not sure why that continues to be debated. Seems like insecurity.
Got to stop having the slow starts on offense and need to improve FS and NT.There’s no doubt McCarthy is a better coach than Garrett so I’m not sure why that continues to be debated. Seems like insecurity.
But in the evaluation of McCarthy himself it is nice to see him get the team starting to respond; but to fully win me over after this season he has to have them start out much sharper on offense next year and also get a handle on the defensive train wreck, whether that is firing Nolan or whatever.
The tank was dead in my mind as soon as we beat the Bengals and lost out on Sewell. Amazingly they've managed to win two in a row since then but what can you say?I see a few Team Tank members feeling their oats again. Sad.
Edit, 3 games.Don’t look now, but we are kicking ass at takeaways over our last 7 games
I think once you get past #3 it doesnt matter as of right now. Might as well enjoy some wins.I see a few Team Tank members feeling their oats again. Sad.
Up and down today, pick makes up for many mistakesAbused at various points, great at others, but Diggs having more interceptions his rookie year than Byron ever had with us cant help but bring a smile to your face.
yeah, no. the higher the pick, the better. nor do I want a first place schedule.I think once you get past #3 it doesnt matter as of right now. Might as well enjoy some wins.
Now we need another one and we’re setWilson stepping up as a legit safety is another upside to this year
Which should honestly be the design with this offense, on a perfect day. We saw the flip side to that coin with Byron, a guy who could shut someone down, but never make a play. I dont mind a guy that will gamble or get beat a bit, if he is good enough to get his hands on the ball and create a turnover more often than not.Up and down today, pick makes up for many mistakes
Thought it was just me. I saw it.
