If we lose the next two I assume they'll shut him down for the year.
I hope he can come back and play at least one game so they’ve re-gained that game time comfort and trust back in their body. Don’t want any lingering doubts going into 2021

I wouldn't do that just to be sure for next year.

Exactly. If Dak were still here it’d obviously be a different story, even if playoffs were out of the picture just for his own protection. But Martin is incredibly valuable himself, and at this point we have the supposed depth behind him in young players to get by.

It is not like he has chronic issues like Tyron Smith.

Rest him and let him heal if the conditions support it.

Agreed.

I was curious yesterday and looked up how ole Byron is doing in MIA, 2 passes broken up, no picks. I remember thinking how livid I was going to be if that dude just exploded with like 4-5 picks this year.
Byron is a good coverage corner but if you're a CB making $16 million per year you have to make a decent amount of highlight/impact plays to justify that salary. Miami has a team option after the 2022 season. If Byron's next two seasons play out like his fist 6 seasons, I can't see them picking up that option.

Truth.

That was a situation of a shit team with tons of cap space manned by a defensive minded coach who saw good technical ability, with little of the playmaking variety behind it. Can’t blame them, as their turnaround has happened sooner than expected, but I agree. His lack of impact plays make him not for long in that sort of town.

Find some way to lose to the Bengals, start DiNucci for the final 3 games and start printing those Sewell jerseys.

not Jerry's style. he's still dreaming of an outside chance at a title.
In the past, if the playoffs are really in site he's sent teams resembling a MASH unit on the field to make them earn their contracts.

If a Superbowl was on the line for example, Jerry might tell Martin to wrap up his calf and get on the field.

Someone needs to remind the Joneses when they pull out that excuse.
All have lost their starting QBs as well.

In fairness to Dallas, we've had to dip into the 3rd and 4th string QBs, and our injuries have been massive up and down the lineup but still.

Us losing our starter compared to their starters was a lot bigger loss. Especially in the skins case. Hell, them losing their starter was probably a good thing. It reversed a retarded coaches decision to start Haskins and they now have Smith starting. I’d call that a position upgrade.

It's not just about the QB, we were a team theoretically built around an elite offense and an average or so defense.

We lost our top 7ish QB and our OL was completely ravaged with injuries. Dak, Tyron and Collins are 3 of our top 7ish players overall and all have more or less missed the entire year, Martin is slated to miss half the year and he's a top 3-4 player on the team.

So that's 3 of our top 5 and 4 of our top 7-8 players on the roster missing most or all of the season.

The Skins and Giants were never built the same way, they were never going to win with offense, so losing their shitty QBs for a few games doesn't have as much of an impact.

What happened to us would be like if the Skins had lost Da'ron Payne, Chase Young and Jonathan Allen for the year, or if the Giants had lost Leonard Williams, Dalvin Tomlinson and Dexter Lawrence for the year.

Take those 3 off each team and let's see how they'd look.
