And yet, they missed the playoffs and the coach got fired. Thumb your nose at it and this is what you get. Jinx is alive and well.

Wait, the coach got fired and we're now better off.

Has the jinx been misunderstood all this time?

It's a weird year. And Dillard hasn't quite established himself yet anyway.
Yea, he is not some great individual piece but when you combine it with already losing Brandon Brooks and that they're now going to be relying on 40 year old Jason Peters at LT, well, it's certainly not great.

We very well might be seeing bird-brain Hurts out there for a several game stretch.

Yeah the O-line is so important. Without a good O-line you can't run the ball and you can't develop a real passing game. And luckily this year I think we have the DE's to take advantage of this. It bodes well for us. Man the injuries seem really bad this year without any preseason games. And the funny thing is the knock has always been that the preseason games are dangerous to players. But the truth is I don't think these players are ready to play a full game. When the season starts this could be a mess of injuries.

It almost certainly will be a mess early on, COVID or no COVID.

I think this is a blessing in disguise for the Eagles. They were replacing Dillard with Peters last year, every time the latter was healthy enough to play. And Peters was noticeably better.

Peters is 38 years old and going on 39, he's slowing down with every passing month and at this point I'd be shocked if he's any better than an average starter. Maybe that's better than Dillard, maybe not, but either way Peters is the definition of a bandaid and their first round, handpicked successor at the position going down is a massive problem.

Not to mention they were planning on having Peters replace Brooks at RG and will now have to move him over and replace him with some schlub at RG.

That RG position now becomes a big concern, no doubt, as does the health of Peters. He's been missing games regularly these past few years.

But I think that even at 38, he's still a better left tackle than Dillard. It's just a matter of how long he can stay healthy.

+1 to that. I never underestimate Jason Peters. Their resigning him really bugged me.

Over the long haul, his age will factor, but that guy is going to bring his A game to every game that matters-- especially against Dallas.

At this point his reputation precedes him, he hasn't been to a Pro Bowl or made an All-Pro team in about 5 years and no matter what, age comes for everybody, especially those with extensive injury histories.

People around here fret over Tyron who is only 30 and misses 2-3 games a year then plays at a Pro Bowl/All-Pro level most of the rest of the time. If we were relying on a 38 year old, oft injured form of Tyron Smith who was unsigned up until about a month ago and who was slated to play RG before an injury forced him back to LT it'd be full on panic mode.

So yea, I'm not worrying about a 38 going on 39 year old Jason Peters, especially with Garrett not around anymore to bumble around and fuck things up. His old ass is going to get fucking roasted by Griffen, especially with two average at best OG's in the middle.

That was already a guarantee prior to this.

Same for me. I just knew that somehow, some way, Peters would end up back with the Eagles again. He may be near the end, but he's been a great player for them.

He's always been an athletic freak, and even though he's up in years, I'd still rather face them with Dillard rather than Peters.

So he is saying Garrett muffled them?
I'm probably guilty of 'homering out', but between the new coaching staff and the players added in the draft and free agency, I think the changes will be stark, noticeable, and undeniable.

This is a 11-plus win team, compared to Garrett's incompetence leading to another 8-8 season last year.

The 2020 Cowboys are a Super Bowl contender.

We no longer have Garrett or Marinelli running things. That bodes well for us by default.
