There had to be a certain amount of hatred in the cop about something else he wouldn't have detained Floyd in the manner he did.
What is puzzling to me is why the others acquiesced surely knowing that what he was doing would kill Floyd. This part actually seems to rule out racial motivation since others present who were of the same race. My guess is that Floyd said or did something that sent to cop in melt down mode. It doesn't explain however why the others just stood by and allowed it to happen.
