I hate the situation he is now in, but again, good for him. It takes some massive balls to stand up for our liberties, and he will lose his job doing it. That on top of already fighting for our liberties in the military. I love this dude and have the utmost respect for him.

I agree completely with his position but I’m not sure he used appropriate discretion by appearing as an enforcer of laws and rules (full uniform) and talk about disobeying same. He could easily have changed clothes identified himself as an officer of the law by profession then stated he was talking however as a private citizen. That would possibly have diffused all the hoopla and probably not put his profession in jeopardy.

I think you missed his point.

At least the judicial system is doing the right things in these cases.
The local sheriff also refused to arrest him

Maybe so. What is the point I missed.
His point was that even as a police officer on duty in uniform he would not enforce the tyrannical edicts being imposed.

Well that's really the conundrum in all this. He is a law enforcer officer by trade and duty. He took an oath. He isn't a Lawmaker. He cant back away from one side of his duties and expect not to be sanctioned. That's why I said if he had made the statements as a citizen without the appearance in his enforcement role it might have been easier on him. It may not have got him entirely off the hook but it may have mitigated some of the flak he has taken from the system he serves. As stated I don't disagree with anything he said but he didn't do himself any favors in the manner he presented it in my opinion.

He took an oath to uphold the constitution. That is EXACTLY what he is doing.

He sure can if it's an unlawful order. And that is what he is talking about. That governors and the like are giving orders that are unconstitutional.

No different than the military. The very first words you say as you are joining are "I, __, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic..." And from day 1 are told that it is our DUTY to disobey an unlawful order.

If he is in fact fired for taking a stand, I hope he sues the ever-livin' shit out of them. I would imagine he would have a hell of a case for being fired unjustly and only as reprisal for standing up for what's right.

The right to peaceably assemble. (1st amendment)

The right to free speech. (1st amendment)

The right to religious freedom. (1st amendment)

The right against unreasonable searches and seizures. (4th amendment)

You can them all at Bill of Rights - Bill of Rights Institute
I apparently missed this part of the story. I assume the governor would not allow people to assemble? I have been in and out trying to get some medical stuff put together. It’s a pain in the butt trying to get in a hospital now if you don’t have a virus or emergency.
