First off, your posts are not nearly as bad as others so I certainly was not calling you out specifically. However, this is what you posted a few pages back. Trump has mentioned it multiple times, not once 3-4 weeks ago. He even mentioned in yesterday or the day before in his presser. Then you say he's been called a snake oil salesman when people have said he's overselling it which he is at this point. Then the whispers that it is actually helping is also misleading. Cuomo saying it's anecdotally helpful and the French releasing yet another study which has no controls and not enough pts is not "whispers." Again there was some limited data and there is still some limited data. It's not compelling but it's enough that some people are using it.
Then you say he deserves an apology. None is warranted. He should stay in his lane or at the very least repeat what the experts are saying rather than make his own conclusions with insufficient data.
I’m missing the point where the outrage comes in.
My assertion, I don’t know if I’ve made it here or not, is that Fauci isn’t going to come out and out his credentials on the line for a treatment that hasn’t been through the ringer of tests and studies. I think he leaves that for the administration who is looking for any silver lining there may be in this whole mess.
I think that’s why when Fauci has been asked about the treatment, he hasn’t completely shot it down, he’s done what anyone of his stature would do, he’s careful about what he says.
The outrage over Trump mentioning the treatment is much to do about nothing. It’s one more thing to complain about. Yeah, nobody knows for sure at this point, but nobody knows either way.
I’m certain Trump didn’t wake up one day and tell Fauci that he may want to try this treatment he dreamt about the night before. I’m sure medical professionals brought it to his attention.
Trump mentioning the treatment doesn’t make it work less or more than what it might on it’s own. It doesn’t make it any more dangerous either. It just gives the media the opportunity to blow something else out of proportion.
