OAN is the bestest. So what is the most credible source for news...even general news outside of coronavirus?
This thread is full of sources not to trust - NY Times, Washington Post, Twitter, CNN.
Nah it's def CNN, the network that wouldn't survive if it wasn't mandated they be aired in every airport.OAN is the bestest.

You guys are seriously warped. Listen to you guys trumpeting hydroxychloroquine like you know what you're talking about. There was a French study of 36 patients who got better when it was combined with azithromycin. Further there is a theory about how it works at the molecular level to help pts. However, there is concern that it may help a subset of patients but may make others worse. So it's not so easy, not so simple. You have to study this stuff with large numbers of patients, and study it against controls. Over time, you can see if it helps people and if so, which people.
You know it's just a joke right? You guys are seriously warped. Listen to you guys trumpeting hydroxychloroquine like you know what you're talking about. So when you say anecdotally that it helps people, that is the lowest quality of medical data. It is essentially borderline worthless without testing. Blood letting was probably anecdotally helpful. The body does a decent job of writing itself so you have to run anything against controls. It is being studied but so far I have seen very little well powered studies. France released some more data of 80 patients but they didn't do a control arm so again, the study is for shit.
That being said, for admitted pts we are giving it. We can monitor the pts and this is safe. We are not sending pts home on it as we've had pts come right back when they can't fill it at the pharmacy. Then you wish you hadn't written for it as likely they don't need it.
I think there are other drugs which hold much more promise than hydroxychloroquine (+ azith), but again studies need to be done. I will say if any drug being studied is so successful that it's a world beater, they end the study immediately and report the results. Same thing if you are killing people. So far, I haven't heard of anything having homerun results. Just a ton of anecdotal reports.
Prescription medications should not be a political issue. Trump trumpeted this thing on multiple occasions. Doctors and Fauci have said he shouldn't be doing that. So what happens? He doubles down and now you got conservative media slavishly following his lead. This is incredibly frustrating. Let doctors and patients make decisions.
Also, if you think this shit is harmless fun, it's not. Again, I've had patients demand I write them for it when they have no symptoms of anything. People have told me the President and Vice President are rec it (I'm not sure Pence ever did but that's what one guy said). As for it killing 0.00000001% of people, that it horseshit. It causes QT prolongation which in pts with a baseline prolonged QT or who take medications that prolong intervals (i.e. quite a few psych meds which people often don't disclose to you) this can cause fatal arrhythmia. I admitted a young pt with this very problem and she would have died had I not put her in the ICU (though from different meds). So generally doctors do a screening EKG prior to writing it. That's easy in an ER/hospital but not so easy in the outpatient setting. Again, I don't want to be answering these fucking questions because the President wants to show how stubborn he is. Let the medical experts give medical advice.

Yeah. But I've just read 15 posts about this shit and how the liberal media is downplaying the benefits of a life-saving miracle drug. That's not what happened and it's not accurate. The sources I watch (Sanjay Gupta, Cooper, Cuomo) have been saying exactly what I said. Can you find some wingnut out there saying everyone is gonna die? Probably but that's not fair to judge everyone by that. You know it's just a joke right?

"Hey guyz Anderson Cooper and Cuomo talked bad about it"(even tho Cuomo's brother is touting it?) Hmmm I wonder why you didn't mention that? Nah I know whyYeah. There is limited data at this point. It may help but more data is needed. But "just take it, what's the harm" and to take it prophylactically as the President has rec on multiple occasions, including to Laura Ingraham, what 2 days ago? It's inappropriate. The problem is, the more experts ask Trump to stay in his lane, and more he resists and doubles-down.
But hey, I better stop now or jsmith is going to beat me up and take my lunchmoney.
Welp...The sources I watch (Sanjay Gupta, Cooper, Cuomo)
Yes this is a cat scan of the lungs. This is a horizontal slice through the chest, heart in the middle, lungs on the left and right. The lungs should be mostly black for air (like the area you see outside of the body). This guy has about 10% of his lungs functioning. Everything else is filled with proteinaceous inflammatory material. Is that a picture of lungs?
Whats DM stand for?
I don't know how you can make anything out of that, what is this supposed to tell us?
Welp what? I'll take them everyday over Hannity, Ingraham, Limbaugh and Tucker. They like facts.Welp...
