I believe Stephen's got more sense than people think.

That guy is going to hire us a GM one day.
No, he's not. Him, his father and now apparently even Jerry Jr. like things just the way they are, as Goof Son explained to Peter King:

“I won’t say specific names, but Jerry and I spent a lot of time talking about college head football coaches,” Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told me Friday. “We talked about specific ones. We went down that road hard, internally, between the two of us in particular, but my brother [Jerry Jr.] weighed in and we talked to [VP of Player Personnel] Will [McClay]. We did our diligence. We just didn’t have anybody in for a formal interview.

I'm not claiming he's a football savant.

Without his influence, though, we'd still have Garrett.

This team has smartly started building through the draft over the last 10 years and I credit Stephen with helping ease up his Deddy's grip on control.

That still does not mean he is hiring a real GM with accountability. They like this committee thing and eventually he will do just as Jerry does, break "ties".

Maybe not until Jerry dies, but at that point I do believe Stephen is going to realize that he doesn't have to oversee every aspect of the team.
It's my hope, how dare you shit on it.

Y’all have to admit this is a different Jerry.
Feh. Jerruh will rear his ugly head eventually.

It’s all sunshine and giggles now, but the psychopath bitch will turn up.

T.O. went from tears ‘thats my QB’ to calling out Romo. Enjoy the honeymoon while it lasts.

I hope you're right. Sometimes I hear him spew the similar propaganda as dear leader (Jerry). Hopefully it's just him toeing the company line to pacify Jerral.

Any normal person would hire a GM, especially after watching their father/predecessor try and fail for 25 years doing it the unconventional way.

Who gives a shit what Witten's future in Dallas is?

Is it the organization's responsibility to cultivate a coaching career for him?

If he develops into a strong coaching candidate where ever that might be, whether as a position coach, coordinator or HC, I'm certain we'd be able to pluck him at any time.
