No, because it will just prove the extent that people overreact to stuff that isn’t always relevant.
And what does that have to do with McCarthy being a much much much better coach than Garrett?

I was bored at work last night so I started watching YouTube clips of the sport shows reactions to the McCarthy hire. Well I'm watching one of the Fox Speak for Yourself segments and for some reason Jason Whitlock has a completely sour attitude about McCarthy's abilities as a coach. One of the main things he tried to harp on was that he had Brett Favre & Aaron Rodgers at his disposal but only has 1 Super Bowl win to show for it.

The funny part was Marcellus Wiley immediately called him out for being a hypocrite because apparently Whitlock views Sean Payton as the 2nd best coach in the game. Payton's resume is VERY similar to McCarthy's plus he's had Brees who is an all-time great. Whitlock tried to stammer and clutch at some lame excuses as to why it was different. I had a nice little chuckle.

I’m not relying on anything, I’m just relating what an actual reporter said on the subject, instead of what DallasCowboysCentral Poster Nobody Jsmith6919 who has no insight and no sources said on the matter.

Still has nothing to do with the subject I was discussing in this thread.
You are kinda testy these post-Garrett days.

Sounds like a better Jason Garrett with Dom Capers, Aaron Rodgers, and no Jerry Jones.

I’m hoping he’s better than his post-Superbowl playoff record, but he made a lot of Garrett-like choices, especially against Seattle and especially regarding not trusting the running game at key moments.

Anyways, better is an improvement.

The biggest thing for me would be getting rid of Rod Marinelli.
Theres no doubting McCarthy is a big step up from Garrett, but there’s no way anyone can just brush aside the concern on how much Rodgers has contributed towards McCarthys success as HC.
Same with Payton and Brees.
We all know Dak isn’t either one of those QBs, and we all know that he IS that type QB in Jerry’s mind. Which is another concern.
There lies most of my worry about McCarthy. Who made who in Green Bay?

I think it’s probably a fat guy bias mixed in with impressions from his recent firing.

Bottom line is the NFC has had more competitive breadth than the AFC overall and teams like NY, LA, Minnesota, Carolina, Philly, and Atlanta have sprung up out of nowhere more frequently to challenge Seattle, New Orleans, and Green Bay. In the AFC it’s always been NE, Pittsburgh, or Baltimore (and for a minute, Denver) because everyone else f’ing sucks.

So outside of the usual suspects, Harbaugh, Belichick, and Tomlin, it doesn’t get much better than McCarthy’s achievements.

Don’t forget Brady and Roethlisberger have similarly helped their coaches quite a bit.

If John Harbaugh gets another Lombardi with Jackson, we’ll at last have a trend-breaker.

The biggest thing I see with GB is the bad drafts Rodgers had to cover for. That really isn’t on McCarthy so much. Their solid 2018 draft is kicking in now, but too late for McCarthy.

I wonder why McCarthy gets no credit for developing Rodgers though. People talk about Rodgers like he stepped into the NFL as a stud. That wasn't at all the case. He totally had to be developed to become the player he is now.

Ultimately I think McCarthy is a hell of a coach. I don't think he is the most innovative offensive mind out there. Which is why I think pairing him with a more innovative guy like Kellem Moore is a great idea. But McCarthy is going to outwork you and get his team prepared to play.

I don't have a Garrett PC to play, but him saying "doing" does not sound right.

How you doing sounds less than his fake Ivy League persona.

I would like someone to provide video and audio evidence.

I swear it is "going".
He doesn't say, "How you doing?", he says "How we doing, guys?".

TBH, Im surprised at how comparable McCarthy's record is to Payton's
