According to Jets GM Joe Douglas, Dallas called him. So this could have been the answer given the fact that they were supposedly not shopping him.

Honestly, I think this report is more in tune with the "See how smart we are? We tried! But we turned down an outrageous request!". When in actuality, Douglas probably chuckled and threw out an unreasonable request to end the conversation.

I don't buy the Jets story. Not saying they were desperate to get rid of Adams but he is trying to spin it now so that he doesn't have three players pissed that he was trying to trade them away and failed.

Well, you don't have Le'Veon Bell and Robby Anderson all whining on Twitter that their agent told them they were lied to. I don't see any way the Jets would set themselves up to deal with a full scale revolt with their three best guys bitching. Some understand it is a business. Others get all shitty on Twitter instead of confronting the issue in person like an adult.

This is the way I see it as well.

They are one of the worst teams in the league and were rumored to be trading 3 different players. Now they claim that they were never trying to trade anyone but that teams were just calling them. I just don't buy it. Sure their prices may have been high but you know that they weren't just taking the calls and saying they won't trade anyone.

The fact that they were asking for a 2nd for Robby "very average number 2 WR" Anderson shows that they were only willing to deal if teams overpaid. It's fine though, when they're 2-11 in a month and Adams is crowing after every game I'm sure they'll be willing to reconsider their stance in the offseason.

But like you said, I have little interest until I see how the draft and FA shake out.
