I don't know how to post tweets on this buggy site but multiple reports are saying we're in discussions for Adams. I doubt it happens since I'm sure the Jets will want a Ramsey-type haul but it's very intriguing nonetheless.

I used to look forward to the draft. I won't if this goes down. We might not have another first rounder 'til 2022.

What would you guys give up for this guy, btw? He has 2 career picks so he's no Earl Thomas. He is a tackling fool and can blitz like a mofo. Can we trade for the Jet's D Coord instead?

Trade winds are blowing that Adams could be available and the Dallas Cowboys have contacted the Jets in regards to a possible deal, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.

Should the swap come to fruition, Rapoport added the return for Adams would be massive.

Adams has held nothing back in voicing his displeasure with the Jets' losing ways, but he's a fan favorite in New York and at 24 is still on the rise for a franchise presumably hoping to do the same.

In 2017, the Jets took Adams with the sixth-overall pick. Could he be on the move out of town already? Only the deadline will tell.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

He would at least require a first and more. I'd probably give up the first knowing you have 2 more seasons before his contract is up. After that though the other picks would have to be day three variety for me.

I think Adams is a fantastic player. He gets his hands on a lot of balls. He is big, fast and athletic and an excellent tackler. My fear is that only 2 firsts get a deal done and I just can't do that short of a Ed Reed entering his prime at safety.

Surely would give a second. I'd probably swallow a first though I don't think he's at the same level as Cooper as an impact player.

Anything more than that, certainly not.

I mean, so that basically evens out to a first, no?

Dolphins give up Fitzpatrick and get a first in return, and also, they get a 4th downgraded to a 5th, and a 7th upgraded to a 6th. Presumably the 4th being downgraded to a 5th is more value than the 7th being upgraded to a 6th, so technically, the Dolphins received LESS than the value of a first round pick for Fitzpatrick.

Tell the Jets they can have a first with no other conditions. That beats the Fitzpatrick deal.

Adams is better than Minkah. But Minkah has more of his rookie deal left. Still you're not getting Adams who is 24 years old in the late first round.

Why would teams give away great young players like this? I get it if your entire team is old, you know you need a rebuild, and you have one or two top players who only have a couple of good years left. But this guy is 24. Why would the Jets unload him for a second? Especially a low second? Or for that matter, even a low first?

Except the Steelers first is higher... but yeah the Steelers gave up a little less than a first.

Yeah the 2019 draft is looking like a total shitshow. 2nd round pick bust, 3rd round pick on IR. Only the RB seems to be helping. It is a little early for draft grades, of course. So we'll see. But yeah, poor draft decisions can haunt you.

It strikes me that we are having to get All Pros at every position to be able to compete with teams like the Pats, GB, NO because our coaching sucks balls. I don't see those teams having the kind of talent we do (save at QB which is kind of important). But yeah, Garrett has to have everyone healthy and top tier to be able to compete and then he loses to winning teams more often than not.

Grrrrrr.....

I think this is probably a bad longterm move and only a good short term move if there are some major QB injuries (Rodgers, Brady and Brees). I guess I'll be excited but will be another shit draft next year.

Adams wants out that's partially why. And teams are realizing the advantages of cheap rookie deals. So they don't want to waste those years for shitty seasons.

They're dumb? :shrug

At least in that case I'd heard that they're extremely cash poor and would be until the move to Las Vegas, so they wanted to reduce payroll the next couple of years. (Plus at that point it looked like the Cowboys pick might be a high first.)

And as far as the player wanting out... If I'm an owner I don't care. You're under contract.
