Just wow.
Just wow.
That coach was not a spineless lapdog. He'd had the shits of Jerry and let it be known. But it was easy to fire a coach who won back to back super bowls.
If my boss walked up to my desk and said, "I'm looking for reasons to keep you," I don't know how I'd take that. Sure wouldn't help me sleep at night. If you're looking for a reason to keep your HC, there's no reason to keep him.
Golden Retrievers aren't generally considered lap dogs and most have spines at birth... I think you may want to rethink your description. That coach was not a spineless lapdog. He'd had the shits of Jerry and let it be known.
Garrett is the Golden Retriever who lies quietly by the fire at night. Well-behaved, docile, low maintenance. Wins the division, a playoff game here and there, enough to keep Jerry happy.
It's sort of a backhanded compliment. If my boss walked up to my desk and said, "I'm looking for reasons to keep you," I don't know how I'd take that. Sure wouldn't help me sleep at night.
Different metaphors. Sorry you weren't able to pick up on that.Golden Retrievers aren't generally considered lap dogs and most have spines at birth... I think you may want to rethink your description.
Fucking A right. If you're looking for a reason to keep your HC, there's no reason to keep him.
I'd want to interview these guys:Personally I'm a believer in Riley as an eventual replacement for Garrett. Young dude, sharp and imaginative scheme. Good QB mentor.
Id like to see some other names mentioned here. Some guys that make you feel good about the direction he would take the team.
Who are they? Exactly why do you want them?
Go!
If we can get a real offensive mind in at head coach and pair him with a good veteran defensive coordinator I think we would be in perfect position to make a jump. The defensive coordinator with Riley would be pretty important. Not sure who will be available yet.Personally I'm a believer in Riley as an eventual replacement for Garrett. Nah he'd be seen as our saviour freeing us from the Garrett stenchI’m not sure Riley is interested in making the jump to the Pros just yet. .He has a perfect set up now and he has only been there for a little over two seasons. He can stay on the top of the heap for a while at OU and if he came to a place like Dallas he would be under constant scrutiny and contention. Faced with that decision I believe I would opt to stay put.
No thanks to that turd Josh McDaniels. He was a trainwreck in Denver and then pulled an absolutely shitpile move on the Colts. I am not even sure he's an average coach, I think Belichick tells him exactly what to do and he does it that way.I'd want to interview these guys:
Josh McDaniels
David Shaw
Dabo Swinney
probably a lot of other guys Ive never heard of too
and see if any of them blew me away
What QB is transferring in for him after this season?I’m not sure Riley is interested in making the jump to the Pros just yet. .He has a perfect set up now and he has only been there for a little over two seasons. Most great college coaches try their hand in the NFL at some point. And why not? If they fail they land jobs like Alabama when they go back to college football. No doubt Oklahoma is a cush job right now. But like all great competitors, coaches want to prove they can do it against the best. Maybe Riley is the exception who prefers to never see if he can do it at the highest level. But odds are some NFL team will lure him away eventually.I’m not sure Riley is interested in making the jump to the Pros just yet. .He has a perfect set up now and he has only been there for a little over two seasons. OU has never had a problem finding talented players. What QB is transferring in for him after this season?
Eventually yes, but if I were in his shoes I would prefer his job simply because he has everything going his way. It would take a lot of money and guarantees to get me to leave. Most great college coaches try their hand in the NFL at some point. And why not? Jerry usually gets what Jerry wants. We listen to him speak and we are still Cowboy fans 25 years after he let his ego destroy the brand.Eventually yes, but if I were in his shoes I would prefer his job simply because he has everything going his way.
