Pretty simple, despite what the Garrett sunshine pumper in this forum thinks.

:roboclap
what are you saying? Im not sure how we looked so bad against the Jets and then perfect vs the Eagles.

I'd be skeptical of an Urban Meyer hiring. Not saying he'd be a downgrade or anything, just that he strikes me as more of a recruiter than a top gameday coach or scheme designer.
Remember Urban is the guy who only got Zeke 33 yards in a loss to Michigan state ruining their national championship hopes in 2015

Tyron Smith, La’el Collins and Amari Cooper.

same old Garret strategy. “Out-talent” them.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

Garrett shits the bed against Darnold, and the all timer makes him throw multiple INTS last night to show who the Jets really are.

The Jets loss will come back to bite the Cowboys in the ass long after the Philly rout is forgotten. We still have a monster schedule coming up and the Jets game should have been an easy W.

Its also the same guy that got Zeke 200+ in 3 straight games the prior yr to carry them to the national championship.

I don’t pay much attention to whether Jones will keep Garrett or just let his contract run and not renew it. Jones hasn’t made any decisions and the remainder of the season will decide his fate. If the Cowboys do well he stays . If the Cowboys go South again this season he’s gone. That’s the dilemma for a fan. Love the team or hope they fail again.

What's your definition of "doing well" or "going south?"

Speaking on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Jerry Jones was asked about the importance of a good relationship between the owner and head coach. “Is it important that you have a ‘Yes man’ there from any perspective? It’s important not to have a, ‘Yes man, there,” Jones said. “Jason Garrett is not a ‘Yes man.’ I don’t say that, must-me protest. I say that because he’s not. Is Jason respectful of the order of things? Of course he is.”

[h=1]Jerry Jones: It’s a “compliment” for Urban Meyer to be interested in Cowboys job[/h]
Posted by Mike Florio on October 22, 2019, 10:23 AM EDT

Urban Meyer recently talked publicly about his interest in coaching the Cowboys. Other coaches (including the one who currently coaches the Cowboys) would regard that as a faux pas. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones regards it differently.

“For Urban Meyer to say that is a compliment,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “Period. I really know that. The job is a great job. Now, that’s not implying that I made it that way or I don’t make it that way. It’s just the place to be.”

On Sunday night, Jones declined to comment on Meyer’s remarks while speaking to Charean Williams of PFT and Clarence E. Hill, Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In that same conversation, Jones said that he is “looking for reasons” to keep Jason Garrett, which implies that the reasons to not keep him are hiding in plain sight.

Regardless, Garrett remains in the last year of his contract. Unless and until Jones gives Garrett an extension, the possibility remains that “the place to be” will be looking for a new head coach in January.

I'd never heard Jerry say that he was "looking for reasons" to keep Garrett, gotta go find that.

I don't think he actually said it. I think it was inferred in an article as speculation.
