We let up 6 points today.

I’m also frustrated that we seem incapable of getting an interception (how many near INTs today? Like 4) and our pass rush seems to be stuck in first gear, but it’s tough to say that it’s going “awful,” right now.
We've played 3 games against 3 bad teams. We cant rush the passer, guys are wide open all over the defense and we cant force turnovers to save our lives.

The schedule and quality of QB play/offensive coaches now takes a dramatic turn the other way. If they continue to play this shitty the offense will have to score 35-40 every week for us to have a chance to win.

Yeah I mean the defense hasn't been as good so far this year but it's pretty early. And while Richard calls the plays it's pretty clear that Marinelli is still in charge of the D-line. He's the main reason Taco is out and he is the main reason Hill was drafted. And most of these DB's were inherited. They weren't hand picked guys by Richard at all.

Dont think there is anything that they can do now. During the offseason they need to reevaluate how they treat the DT position and hopefully Marinelli will be gone. I think Quinn and Lawrence are going to start producing. This was just the first game back for Quinn and have to think Lawrence is starting to get back into game shape.
The interior DL position is the glaring problem. Quinn and Lawrence can get around their guys on the edge but the middle of the defense has been so soft that QBs are able to easily climb the pocket and avoid the rush.

Jaylon Smith hasn't been much of a factor either when it comes to rushing the passer or making plays in general. These days he's largely been invisible. He's not a flat out liability like he was in 2017 but he's not making any impact plays. Whenever he blitzes he's basically nothing more than a blocker magnet. He goes right into the blocker and doesn't get a sniff of the QB.

This team definitely needs to find themselves a DT who can create a bit of havoc in the middle. Preferably one who's actually good enough to dress on game days.

Baker Mayfield seems to have regained his accuracy.

He was missing a lot of these routine throws the first 2 games but so far tonight he's putting the ball where only his guys can reach it and he's placing the ball where they're able to gain yardage after the catch.

Give me some Woods and Wilson at safety and I think you'll see some real improvement. But beyond that we have to hope that Hill develops as the year goes on or maybe we actually play Crawford at the 3 tech spot where he is able to make plays. It's not as good as I want at the 3 technique spot but it might be as good as we will get this season.

The way Miami gave up sacks the preceding 2 weeks it shouldn’t have mattered if Quinn or Lawrence were in shape.

I definitely think there’s some issues with this DL and getting to the QB.
There is. Lawrence isn’t the same, and our second round pick is a bust. We didn’t have an opposite side pass rusher until today, but Quinn looks like he has some value there and should help.

I don’t understand their refusal to address interior DL with a run stopper/pocket collapsed, like safety. As speculated, it would seem to be a Marinelli thing, but didn’t he have Booger McFarland?

Just goes to show that QB's have bad games throughout a season. They all do.

Yeah we seem to be thinking this is the 93 Cowboys and we're mad if every win isn't perfect. We're 3-0 and our QB is putting up elite numbers, hanging with Brady and Mahomes in QBR etc. Things are going great right now but we have a decent test against a very well coached team with a pretty darn good defense next week. Without Brees we should win but it will be the biggest challenge yet. Then we got the Packers after that. We beat those both those teams and we really have a chance to be a good team this year.

Sounds like there's some question about Crawfords avaibility going forward. I read some stuff the last day or so that said he having problems with both hips now.

Yeah I've watched a few Browns games this year and I was thinking about what a fan you were. I think he kind of sucks. Certainly wouldn't take him over Dak.

Von Miller and Bradley Chubb were shutout in the sack department again, I think they are both at 0 for the season.

Meanwhile some guy for Tampa has 8 sacks in 3 games tying an NFL record.

How bad do the Stealers suck? The Niners had 5 turnovers today, and the Stealers lost.

When was the holding call that wiped out the long TD to Cobb? I missed that.

I said for a half, can you read?

10-6 at the half and easily could have been down. Outgained and outplayed by worst team in football at home.

I'd say that's pretty bad.
Yea, I can read... all your hot takes in this thread.

It was a slow half.... and one in which we still led by 4 at the half.

Calm down, Francis, the agenda pushing about how the coaches are so awful can wait for our first loss.

And you didn’t “call” a bad half, you said you were fearful of an unprecedented bad performance that would have to “go up” on the blunder thread. So don’t go patting yourself on the back. You basically missed t by a mile. We won by 25 and never trailed.
