Ugh.

I have played one game against the CPU and one online game and I hate it.

The tackling logic is horrible. Unless you are switching immediately to the closest guy to make a tackle, the guy gets five-eight yards outright. Unless you are controlling the guy, he gets a nice gain.

I guess I need to practice more, but why they change up the audibling system each and every year is beyond me.
It's definitely hard to stop the CPU on offense when you first start out.

I played a couple of games against the Jets. The first game Sanchez lit me up, completing something like 80% of his passes.

The second game I did a lot better and was even able to get a couple of picks. I ended up winning that one 20-3.

I'll probably play a few more games before venturing online.

Also, EA has been talking about how tackling and body mechanics are supposed to be more realistic.

That couldn't be further from the truth.

Most of the time when a player is tackled he flops around like a rag doll.

Remember that vicious hit former Bears receiver Johnny Knox took when he was damn near folded in half backwards? During my two games I had tons of tackle animations that would have made that hit on Knox look tame. I'm talking legs and arms being bent backwards and off to the side at weird angles yet the player always got up uninjured.

The last chance I'm giving this game is with PS4. If this one is the same exact shit, then I'll be done until they either scrap it completely or a new NFL game comes along.

But I already knew that PS3 MAdden was destined for sucktitude which is why I didn't even to think to buy it.

C'mon, man.
You don't have to believe me, that's fine.

But I'm not doing the same dumb shit I've done for the last few years where I buy the game knowing I'm not going to like it, then trade it in before October.

Gotta smarten up some time. :art

PC gamers, looks like I'll be joining your ranks soon.

I don't think I'll be playing many games because I'm a console gamer at heart, but I'm getting this pretty hefty machine here at work so I figured I'll test the waters since I have a machine capable of doing so.

The first order of business will be to play BF3 on PC and see what I've been missing all this time. Next will be Planetside 2.

Let's see how this goes.

Probably for the same reason we keep watching the Cowboys.
The thing is, we're football junkies. So far all the problems we know Madden has, it's still the only NFL game out there so we can't help but play it.

But I'm not gonna do that anymore because I'm just throwing 60 dollars away every year.

I've got my fingers crossed for the next-gen version. Just show me some type of improvement or at least a real attempt to fix what's wrong with the game. Instead of "run free", how about you fix the blocking which would remove the need for some stupid new feature that allows you to chain moves together.

It'll be interesting to see what EA's strategy is going into these new consoles.

It is easier too run on this game...almost too easy because the tackling logic is effed up.

I noticed that as well. You have to tap the tackle button like crazy to get a defender to the ground.

Although I will admit there is a lot of realism in the game. The Cowboys OL struggled pass protecting and opening running lanes for a good part of one of the games I played.

Heh.

I was running Murray at will against the CPU 49ers...until he got injured.

Kinda realistic.

You can also sell your game to Amazon. I bought The Last of Us for $44.99 and sold it back to them for $33.58. I stopped buying madden several years ago, with the intention of buying it every other year. After a year passed by, I just did not miss it. So every other year turned into 3-4 years and going. I will probably buy next years Madden for PS4.

Seems like a pain, to have to mail it to them.

I'm pretty lazy.

What kind of hardware you got in there? I've got a Nvidia GeForce 570 GTX graphics card and a i5 CPU with 8 GB RAM.

I can run BF3 on max and it's gorgeous.

I played an online game of Madden last night. It's about as average of an experience as I expected, but it's honestly hard for me to tell how good the game is until I play someone with some experience.

I did charge in for a short punt and had the ball bounce off of Randall Cobb's helmet without an attempt to catch the ball, so there was that.

This wasn't designed to be a gaming machine, so the graphics card isn't the best for gaming, but everything else is pretty stout:
