NoDak, I wasn't trying to pigeonhole you. Sorry of it seemed like I was being a jerk to you. I was generally spewing thoughts off the top off head between things. My bad if it landed on you personally. I didn't mean that you have sex or believe in it outside of marriage. All I know is what you shared. You seem like a solid dude, so I wouldn't think that. If my morals don't line up with yours in anyway then just ignore me.

BTW, I HATE being pigeonholed myself.
:buddy

I would like to buy you a steak.

Yeah, I'm with you. I made the commitment to marriage and I've never crossed the line and cheated on my wife since we've been married (or engaged...prior to the engagement when we were just "boyfriend and girlfriend" it was another story). I've walked up to that line and leaned pretty hard a few times, but I haven't gone to the other side.
I kissed a girl once when I was really drunk (pre-marriage, but engaged) and I felt like utter dogshit afterwards. I can't even begin to imagine I could ever cheat on her.

Just two guys, not a few, asshole.

I bet this whore would have gotten an abortion, though, had she gotten pregnant by those two guys. She fits the bill.

I think not having sex until after you get married is a bad idea. That just seems like a blind and irresponsible thing to do. I don't believe in sex outside of a committed relationship of some kind, but the idea that you should just risk being incompatible and having a cold, bitter, resentful marriage because your partner won't be intimate with you is absurd. You have to stretch the hell out of the Bible to make it say all sex outside of marriage is wrong.

Even in Mary and Joseph's time, betrothed couples "practicing" before marriage was not explicitly okay but widely done and not considered a big deal.

My wife and I had sex before we were married. I fully intended to marry her anyway by that point, but that's a part of your life and your relationship you can't expect people to risk their lives on.

Except for cases where's there's a medical concern, sexual comparability is just an excuse. If people don't like the sex they are having with their partner, work at it.

That's one of those things though. You don't know if your partner is going to be willing to make it work until you've done it. I've seen these religious people turn into, "My wife didn't like it the first time, so she just does it as little as possible. I pretty much gave up and accepted that marriage = celibacy."

Yeah, fuck that shit.

Welp, how's that working out for us? Marriage is such a shining example for us all to look up there here in America, huh?

Still, I wouldn't worry about it too much because not very people practice it now. Not even Christians.

My marriage is very happy, thanks. Personally, I think too many expectations and too little communication and lack of responsibility on both sides dooms a lot more marriages than the spectre of premarital sex.

I'm sorry Clay but that is dumb.

Treat your woman like a real woman, be a real man and then get back to me. Not you specifically, obviously.

Show me a healthy marriage, like really healthy marriage and you will most likely see healthy sex. Trying before you buy has done nothing to enhance sexuality. If anything, our society has done nothing but destroy the real image of sex to the point that young women don't even know who they are anymore. Sure, you can get a young lady to turn into a ho like no other time in American history. All of that is great for the short term but when you are talking in the context of marriage then you are taking a whole other deal.

Of course there are exceptions like medical issues, previous abuse, bad teaching from parents that sex is bad and so forth. Having sex before marriage wont cure this. Yeah, it will cover it up while everyone is all hot and bothered. After the newness wears off all of the problems will surface.

I'm not talking about you. Take a look around this country. Do the trends point towards things getting better? If no then why?

Because people grow and act like mature adults later and later. That's if they do at all. They grow up never being asked to work or make a sacrifice. Then they get married and the first time something is inconvenient or they're asked to sacrifice something they want, they lash out and have a toddler-level temper tantrum.
