There are rumors that the Cavs are interested in Deng. If we could somehow flip him and our pick for the 1st pick I'd have to do it. Normally there's no way a deal like that goes down but with how weak this draft is you never now.

At that point it'd be a tough choice between Oladipo, McLemore and perhaps Porter. Hell, I've read rumors that the Bulls are interested in LaMarcus Aldridge, if they were to flip Noah and change for him, perhaps they take Len 1st overall.

Anyway, if the trade was somehow to go down (maybe a 3.5% chance of happening) I'd go Oladipo or McLemore. McLemore is the better fit because of his shooting but there have been rumblings of problems with his work ethic and so forth while Oladipo is basically a perfect fit for the Bulls from a personality/defensive standpoint, and I think Oladipo will develop a decent 3 point shot pretty quickly.

Oladipo at the 2 would torment Wade's gimp knees.

Oladipo is a perfect fit anywhere. He can shoot, he can drive, has a great work ethic and and he's solid defensively.

I don't like McLemore at all. I do like Porter, Oladipo, and of course the best player in this draft...Anthony Bennett.

You absolutely do.

Especially if you can get them to kick in a 2nd as well. :art

But yeah, Butler is ready to take over as a starter. Right now I'd say Butler is your starting SG, but if you get an elite 2 guard, Butler becomes the new Deng.

It's renewing your assets, it saves you money, you can then buy out Boozer and maybe have some cash for a free agent splash in a year.

They have to make trades instead of going after FAs...no one wants to play with that D-Bag Rose.

I didn't believe that at first and thought Carp just didn't like the guy, but after another season or so, he sure doesn't seem to be all that liked.

He came off as a real diva and a real bitch with the way he pussied out this postseason and left his team hanging. He certainly doesn't strike me as the type that other guys like.

I think Carp might be onto something and other stars may not want to play with him.

I hope Thibs feels the same as the players do. Then he can come back to Boston.

I was already beginning to think that the title of best coach in the league was being taken away from Popovich by Thibs, but after the way he coached in those finals, I firmly believe that the best coach in basketball right now is Thibs.

Great, great coach.

Rose works out with Westbrook and Love every summer and is great friends with both of them by all accounts.

He probably doesn't get along with guys like LeBron and Howard who like to play grabass with each other prior to games but I'm sure he gets along with other types of personalities.

Pretty shocking stuff really, a person gets along with some types of people but not others.

I don't really buy it.

For sure, Derrick Rose is not a clown and so yes, I don't think he's buddy-buddy with the Lebrons or Dwight Howards of the world. But Carlos Boozer signed up to play in Chicago with him, there will be plenty of other players as well. I don't even think more light-natured guys like Lebron or Howard would outright refuse, I just don't think they are inclined as a first or second choice. Since those types like to call their own shots, clearly Rose isn't #1 on the list so they won't end up there.

But part of that may be the Bulls organization too. The Bulls did not make any exceptions for Lebron's "posse" when they pitched him and apparently that all but eliminated them (not that they hadn't already pretty much agreed Miami to begin with). The Bulls have a reputation, especially now that Thibs is there, that they are all business and it's their way or the highway.

IMO there is a ton more evidence that's the problem, not necessarily Rose.

And the Bulls are a very conservative organization, generally, so they're less likely to go balls to the wall to pull off big moves.

I just never hear the high level guys ever mention that they want to play with Rose. I hear Paul and Howard, Lebron and Wade...stuff like that, but I never hear anyone say they want to play with Derek Rose. Makes you wonder.

Sources: Deng for No. 3 pick explored
June, 24, 2013
Jun 241:27PM ET By Marc Stein
ESPN.com

The first decent NBA Draft trade rumble of the week involves an All-Star who's no stranger to the speculation game.

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that the Chicago Bulls, in their latest attempt to gauge the trade value of All-Star swingman Luol Deng, have had exploratory discussions with Washington about a deal that would land Deng with the Wizards and bring the No. 3 pick in Thursday's draft to the Bulls.

The most likely trade construction, if talks were to progress to the serious stage, would send Deng to the Wizards for the No. 3 pick and center Emeka Okafor, who would have to formally opt into his contract for next season ($14.5 million) this week for the trade to go through.

Yet it's worth noting that Cleveland, sources say, has interest in Deng as well ... and there will surely be other potential trade partners to surface if the Bulls decide they're legitimately ready to part with Deng after years of flirting with the idea.

Those guys are all from the same generation who came into the league at the same time, even though it's just a 3-5 year difference, the perception is a big difference.

You don't see these guys talking about teaming up with Durant or Love, and once that generation starts teaming up without mentioning Rose then I'd start to wonder but I think the majority of it is that those guys came into the league together and solidified into the upper crust of stars together.

They were all top 10 players when Rose, Durant, Love, etc. were playing in the NCAA tournament.

I also think the Bulls being so conservative has something to do with it, supposedly the Bulls were one of Carmelo's top choices but the Bulls weren't going to give up Noah, smartly perhaps.

Maybe not sleepers, but these guys are not top 10 guys...Gorgui Dieng, Archie Goodwin, Jamaal Franklin.

I love all three of those guys, I think the Bulls would be particularly interested in Dieng and Franklin at 20, Bullock and Hardaway Jr. as well.

I think Hardaway is going to be good and would be a perfect fit there. Bullock is alright too, but he is just not very athletic...although the Bulls seem more intent on adding outside shooting than athleticism.

Goodwin is going to take some time, but that guy was one of the quickest players I saw last year. He could go like Westbrook at times...not comparing them talent wise, just their speed.

I think Jeff Withey is underrated as well. I think he would be a big time energy big off the bench for a team taking him. He's not going to score...maybe some Birdman type stuff, but his rebounding and shot blocking would be invaluable.
