Two completely different situations. To compare them is stupid.
It was a joke. They are both great examples of civil disobedience though which is the point. Clearly you don't have a problem with civil disobedience when it's for a cause that you think is just. You just don't believe in what Kim Davis believes in.

She was elected to that office. Civil disobedience from an elected office is completely different than otherwise. I stated that as fact, and you are the one that has assumed what I meant. Again, it's dumb to compare the two.

Because she's using her power and position to affect the rights of people. In this case the rights of gays to marry.
Isn't that what all types of elected officials do? Many judges are elected, they certainly do exactly that. The point is people only have a problem with it because they dislike her agenda. I dislike her agenda too. But if a judge ordered her to not issue any marriage licenses to interracial couples and she defied that judge I'd be on here waiving my towel for what she did.

The lady took an oath to uphold the duties of the office.. As of now one of those duties is to issue marriage licences to gay couples via the law of the land. If she is personally convicted that she can not abide by the laws and duties of the office she should leave the job. It is not her right to utilize her personal beliefs to circumvent her duties and responsibilities of the office.

Is there a reason why she can't be removed from office?

None at all. If she refuses to uphold the duties she should be removed.
That's my opinion with what should happen. I mean there is always a way to remove a person from office who steps outside the authority of their position.

I think it might be impossible to remove her from office. She's an elected official, I think she can only be removed by recall, and I think she's just as popular as ever with her voting base.

You are the attorney but it seems to be a clear cut case of breach of duty.

Obama should've been removed years ago then.
