The OL won us games last year. Murray was here the year before and didn't make that much of an impact.

If the coaches don't trust the running game this year because they don't think they have a back worth trusting, that is one thing, but this OL will turn 700 yard backs into 1100 yard backs and 1100 yard backs into 1500 yard backs without much trouble.
Would have helped if Dallas had run the ball more that year.

And there's a shitload of history to support the position that we took with regard to giving Murray 50 million dollars.
History is about something that has happened but it's not proven predictor of what will happen. The $50 mil figure, where did that number come from? Are you assuming Murray would not have taken less if he was offered 8 mil for 4 years?

Of course any QB is easy to find. A franchise QB, not so much.
They are a lot easier to find when you have an elite offensive line, the best WR in football and a good system in place. It's why a QB can look like a franchise player for one team and then look like total shit with his next team.

So, you're saying we should just trade for Bradford?

Depends on if you want a franchise QB or a bus driver.

No what I'm saying is if Russell Wilson had gone to Tampa Bay no one would be considering him a franchise QB right now. Drew Brees wasn't a franchise QB until he left the Chargers and went to the Saints. If you put the right pieces in place around a QB and develop him properly the process of finding a franchise QB is much easier.

You do have to have a certain level of talent to begin with. No doubt supporting cast will help make a QB look better. Would be nice though to get a QB that didn't have to have a full all-star roster to succeed.

Yeah but the Andrew Lucks in this world come by every 10 years and you better have the top pick in that draft to get him.

1 franchise QB every 10 years? So in the last 50 years there have only been 5 franchise cailber QB's?

No but I'm referring to a QB who can basically take a shitty team and make them great. There are obviously others too like Tom Brady who no one saw coming but clearly make all the talent around them look amazing even if it's not that great.

Maybe it's more like once every 5 years. But what I'm saying is a lot of these QB that you think are franchise QBs, wouldn't be considered so on a different team with a different supporting case. The Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, Tony Romo type QBs.

I agree we don't have to have an all-timer at QB, but hopefully we can find a replacement good enough that it won't take an all-timer roster in order to win.

Love me some Connor Cook. Not sure how highly he will be draft though.

Kevin Hogan is in no way a top 10 pick by saying it shows a lot about your player evaluations.:lol
It's a year away. keep your panties on. maybe we can give up a 3rd for a 6th or something to get you excited again.
