:lol

This line could be said by anybody in any argument regardless of the side they're on.
The point is that this doesn't have to have an all or nothing solution. You don't punish 99 dog owners for 1 dog owner being a dumbass, and that's what's being insinuated. By Deuce at least.

What it boils down to for me is, I don't care if you own one. I never would because I have children. I won't allow my children to be at a house or any other place where a pitbull is. They might be perfectly behaved around your own children. The nicest dog ever. Great. I'm not willing to take that chance. Is it me being prejudiced against the breed? Probably. It's been proven that they are more aggressive than your avg run of the mill dog. And again, I'm not willing to gamble with the safety of my children.

And I certainly can't blame you for that. I don't let my children alone around any dog I don't know.

I wouldn't own a pit. I'd probably be less inclined to hang around with people who owned pits. Because for all I know it is a poorly bred and dangerous animal.

The only thing I oppose is the mass hysteria, that results in tons of innocent dogs being killed.

Even if I don't like a guy, or his dog, doesn't mean I'd fucking murder it.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

I think that it what is wrong with the breed...too many cheap ass "puppy mills" turning out poorly bred pitbulls. Yes I had a pit, and I paid 1900.00 for it and saw 4 generations of the pups paperwork and history before agreeing to buy it. Most people I know with pits either have no idea of its history outside of the parents, paid 3-400 bucks for one, or more often than not its a "mix".

My pit basically only listened to me and feared me, which was a problem for my significant others when I wasn't around. They are very strong willed and fearless dogs which can cause problems with humans and especially other household animals.

I think the poorly bred pits are a danger to people and even the ones with stellar breeding probably don't need to be around children or elderly without supervision. The fighting instinct is always there I believe and it takes a very strong pack leader (human) to keep these dogs in check.

But, as has been pointed out in this thread, you can say almost the same thing about Pinschers, Shepherds, and Rotties.

What have I proposed that would be considered punishment? I haven't asked for dog genocide.

Feel free to point out which of my posts said you should lose your dog. Take your time cause it may be a while.
Hell, you posted an entire article advocating the banning of pits. :lol

Oh, so posting an article that came out the same day as a topic in here means I agree with it completely? Ill remember that the next time you post a Spagnola article on the main board.

I am for rounding up and slaughtering pit bulls and putting an end to that horrible line of dogs forever.

It very well could be taken that way, though.

In a debate you post an article you don't agree with. Makes perfect sense.

I mean the entire articles was about the reasons to ban pits. But he only agrees with so e of it.

I don't remember responding to any part of the article. It just happened to be timely considering our conversation.

If you want my opinion, I think they are dangerous and would like to build towards them not being around as much anymore. Doesn't mean I want to kill them off as they are now, you can keep you family pet until it does something horrible if you want. But I would be for population control and heavy restrictions or even banning of breeding. If the breed eventually goes away over time because of that, oh well.

There are a lot of the canine species I do not trust. I just trust the pit bull variety less regardless of breeding. A lot of dogs can have moments of insanity so I keep my distance and trust owners are vigilant enough to secure their animal. My tolerance level is very low when I see a dog roaming the neighborhood. I will call the authorities immediately because there will likely be children or adults in the proximity. It may be a toothless 20 year old pooch for all I know but they will all get the same treatment. Even if the dog is harmless, the owner needs to be punished for neglecting their responsibility.
