The Patriot is on Skinemax right now. Forgot how good it was. Historically inaccurate, but still pretty damn good.

GOTG was incredible. Great movie from start to finish. Also, if you have an Alamo Drafthouse in your local area, you will never find a better movie watching experience. Just greatness.

I want to say Drax steals the show, but they all have their big moments.

As an aside...

Safe to assume Yondu is Quill's dad?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, as well. The smile after he opened the case he thought contained infinity stone sealed it for me.

I know some have talked about it, but I didn't expect nearly as much of a Star Wars feel to the movie. It was just so well done.

I thought when his mom said his dad was an angel and then he made a point later in the movie to say he was no angel.

You know, you're right. I didn't make that connection while watching.

The mid credits scene was stupid though...only complaint...it did nothing to further any Marvel franchise.

Anybody seen Excision?

Its a great little horror/black comedy with a huge gut punch at the end, its a little gory but the plot is great you can kinda see where things are heading and still be surprised at the end.

I was really surprised by Anna Lynn McCord she showed some real range as the psycho daughter.

K Brown I think this would be right up your alley its currently running on cable.

I saw Magnolia for the first time today. Not bad, but wtf is up with the frogs at the end? At least when Fargo did the fish raining down, they made up a retarded reason why. This movie didn't even attempt from what I could tell.

Nice, I will see if I can find it. Most of my watching is through Amazon Instant Video or Netflix.

Also, You're Next just got added to Netflix streaming. Highly recommended.

Can't take Chucky seriously, I am the same way with zombie movies now they don't move the needle anymore.

Was disappointed in Lords of Salem a Rob Zombie movie it was just boring all around.

It's understandable. The last couple of Chucky movies were ridiculous. This one is too, but Child's Play ridiculous, not Seed of Chucky ridiculous.

I haven't seen Lords of Salem, but I am kind of tired out on the 70s white trash pastiche Zombie injects into every fricking movie. I rewatched his Halloween the other day to see if it still sucks. Yep, still sucks.

Maybe he can redeem himself with this movie 31 that he's trying to get off the ground, but it's looking like the same thing.

Richard Linklater's Boyhood was really good. Very interesting concept as it was shot intermittently over 12 years. The main character was 6 in the first scenes and 18 by the end. It was a bit slow at times and pretty long, but it was a cool coming of age story.
Been wanting to see that for weeks. Kenneth Turan (LA Times movie critic) said he didn't get what all the hullaballo was about as it was universally praised, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to dig it. Linklater's stuff is usually very solid.... "Bernie" was phenomenal.
