It's meant to be racist. Too many people call police because there is someone 'suspicious' and want the police to infringe on the 'perps' rights. It's yee-haw awesome and we cheer police for being proactive when we see a bunch of black people sitting on their hands on the curb while the police run their records...
The cops aren't in the business of preventing crimes. They are in the business of... like mopping up and stuff.

Yeah, god fucking forbid that they stay in charge of the situation. Good god damn.
Political demonstrations are always going to be heated and if you keep letting cops try to run things, instead of enforcing the laws, they are just going to abuse their authority to suppress political speech. If you don't think that can happen in America, check out the Civil Rights Movement on Wikipedia.

Then just take the guns away from cops while you're at it. They don't need those.

Those cops weren't suppressing political speech. They were removing a factor that could turn the political speech into a bad situation, but I said that 45 times already, so go ahead and use the video to promote your agenda.

I don't have any problems with cops carrying guns. I just think they should be deployed in a way that makes it less likely for them to have to use them.

You just romanticize 80s and 90s cop movies and see them as ass kicking, name taking, shoot first and ask questions later superheroes. Truth is, Dirty Harry and Bad Boys II are just movies and when the police behave like that they kill more innocent people than they do bad guys.

And, not one bit of your post spoke to the point I've been making all along, but please carry on.

There is no doubt that Cotton would be the pivot man at the cop convention circle jerk.

I bet you would be cool with a cop just letting a person walk down YOUR street ringing doorbells without detaining him and asking him questions.

(here come the lies)
Why would an officer detain someone for ringing a doorbell? :lol You must be a real asshole neighbor to have.

Sometimes thieves ring doorbells to see if anyone is home, so they know if it's all clear. So yeah, it's a bit suspicious.

And most of the time people ring doorbells because they want someone to answer the door.

I guess people walking around at night are pretty suspicious as well since that when criminals wonder around. We should probably institute a curfew for everyone as to prevent criminal activity.

But you do condone cops shoving and intimidating innocent citizens who were just excercising their freedom of speech?

You don't condone it per se, but you are against changing anything to make it happen less often. So basically, the innocent people who are hurt are acceptable losses in the great service of, in your words, letting cops be cops.

We have already been over that, Corky. Go back and read all of my responses.

In this part of the country it is not ordinary for people to be walking around at night in neighborhoods. It raises my suspicion level when I see them.

I've only made about these suggestions half a dozen times.

Stop issuing no knock warrants. People think they are being robbed/assaulted when the cops just break down the door and are likely to attempt to defend themselves especially since the cops' usual incoherent screaming is not much of an opportunity to surrender.

Body cameras. That's self explanatory.

Start controlling traffic with cameras the way it's done in basically every other country on earth and limit police confrontations with the general public.

Actually punish cops who hurt or kill innocent people. This is the main thing that causes the anger. If the police cover for a bad cop they are complicit in his crimes.
