Dunno if this has been discussed, but Bill Simmons and others apparently think that the Bulls have a fairly healthy chance of ending up with both Carmelo and Afflalo within the next 2 weeks.

Some combination of Boozer's expiring and picks to Orlando for Afflalo and a bunch of their non-guaranteed contracts, which the Bulls would in turn send to NY with more picks for Carmelo (giving NY the cap relief they want).

Rose - Afflalo - Carmelo - Gibson - Noah

Bench: DJ Augustin, Kirk Hinrich, Jimmy Butler, Mike Dunleavy, Nikola Mirotic

Yikes.

I suppose that it depends on whether Afflalo is moved in a deal for the #1 pick.
Why would the Magic want to do that at all?

Getting two more first round picks out of it for a rebuilding team?

I'm not saying they will, just repeating Simmons.
They are the 16th and 19th picks. Not exactly like you have a high probability of getting a plus starter there. In the process you are basically screwing your cap situation. Trading up makes far more sense for them.

Teams are apparently really coveting firsts this year because the draft is so deep. I actually do think you can get keepers in the teens this year with some regularity.

How would they be screwing their cap situation again? Boozer is an expiring. They are clearing cap and getting two more picks that they could either use as ammo to trade up, or two more quality players. If they are in rebuild mode, the only thing they are losing is a non-elite player in Afflalo.

Getting all that for Affalo would be a great deal. They'd have flexibility to move up too.

I see guys like Young at 16 Saric at 19 if they kept the pick. Saric has a deal keeping him overseas for 2 more years, buy out Boozer. I'd do that deal.

If I were the Bulls I'd try to hold onto Mirotic though. He's a perfect compliment to their front court. Use the Sacramento draft pick and their own in 2016 to get a deal done. The Knicks wants into this draft badly, too.

16, Sacramento pick, Boozer, and Snell to Orlando for Afflalo and waiveables totalling 8-10 mil (I've heard the name Jameer Nelson).

Then 19, 2016 first (protected), Dunleavy, and the waiveables to NYK for Melo.

Done.

I don't think they could amnesty Boozer because only the original signing team can, but he's only got 1 year left.

He can be a productive role playing PF for someone for a year, and since you are paying him anyway, you might as well let him suit up, he'll still give you 14 and 7.

Its one year. Boozer's deal is no albatross for anyone, except a team trying to use that cap space this year (which the Magic are not). His contract is meaningless to them.

I just don't see him as a fit for what they are doing...maybe at the deadline they can move him.

Cleanthony Early is a guy I am interest in if we can get into the back end of the first. See some Kawhi Leonard in him.

Funny part is him leaving Cleveland may be a blessing. If he goes back he had better players around him than he had before or would've acquired with him there before. He never had a player close to Kyrie's level.
Yup.

Kyrie combined with whoever they choose 1st in the draft will already form a team that is way more talented than anything he ever had in Cleveland during his first spell.

There is nothing admirable about colluding to stack the deck in your favor because you can't win on your own and the only reason it's becoming more common in the NBA is because of the precedent that these 3 jokers set in Miami.

And I don't want to hear about Chris Paul, Kevin Love or anybody else forcing a trade. Forcing a trade from a moribund team to any number of other teams is one thing, colluding with other free agents for months, perhaps years in advance and basically playing GM is completely different.

The only admirable thing about it is that they took less money for the sake of winning.

Ultimately you want players who want to win, so they put themselves in the best position to win. I think any rational person would do that if they could. I am not going to hate on 3 guys who wanted to play together, wanted to win, and wanted to live in a great city. Props to them for pulling it off...and being good enough to win 2 of the last 4 finals.

Parker tweeted or some shit that Mil would take him, regardless of who is on the board, at #2. Cavs are in a good spot...they either get a stud like Wiggins or can just rape someone in a deal.

Cleveland looking to bring in Exum for a last minute meeting and/or workout. Is it with the possibility to select him #1 or more likely if they trade down.

I see this as a trade down with Philly more than anything. He is going top 3, so if they felt the need to visit with him it would really only make sense if they stay in the top 3.

I don't want to move 10, I'd prefer Thad and 3 for the #1.
