Tyrone Crawford is a question mark. No one knows if he is a legitimate player or just another spare.

:lol

Could you explain the power structure in the Cowboy's F.O. for us football novices? Who does what? Who has what responsibilities?

Maybe you could do a football 101 thread.
Care to actually bring something to the discussion to actually demonstrate your position? Because to this point, you've said nothing.

I wouldn't call him a complete question mark. As a rookie he had earned considerable playing time in the second half of the season. He ability and position flexibility to play multiple positions along the DL.

The injury in training camp last year was very unfortunate on a year where better things were expected from him.

Tyrone Crawford and Kyle Wilbur have done nothing to make it anything more than retarded optimism yo think they can be valuable contributors ob a good defense.
I think you're just being foolish to say that about Wilber. 44 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries and 3 tackles for loss. I would say that is a pretty damn good stat line for a guy who was a part time player last year. I think there is plenty of reason for optimism based on the way he played last year. To say otherwise in my opinion is to just try and be a sour puss.

And you have? The only thing you've done is regurgitate mindless drivel spouted by our retarded coach and F.O.

It fits you.

....and you? :lol
So you guys have nothing to bring to the table. I have several replies with my logic yet all I seem to get from you is "oh yeah" or unilateral statements with no backup.

He earned time as a rookie in a different scheme. We have no idea if he can be a contributor in this defense.

Sorry, I make my statements based on the actions I see. I take NO ONE'S word for anything. Not owners, GMs, coaches, players or board posters.

Now I might take a logical statement and change my perception because of it. Especially if it brings up a point that I haven't considered.

As for you, you still haven't said anything. I don't know if it fits you yet, but I am beginning to sense a pattern....

2 good players does not a rebuild make.
No it doesn't. But my original statement was that they were following the plan.

You're right, it is a process, but one that I see evidence that they are following.

I think Holloman has more upside at LB than Wilbur.
I like Holloman as well. I don't think he necessarily plays disciplined yet but that will come with time. The guy can definitely run around and make plays though. I think he should get some consideration for the WLB spot.

Ahhh the standard answer for someone who doesn't really have anything to bring to the table. Site me specific evidence that supports the fact that there is no plan.

Evidence that there is a plan (over the last three years).

1. They have stopped paying older players to long overpriced contracts that they will outlive and end up being cut to put large dead money on future years. (I know you will point to Romo, but when you have a QB playing well, you have to pay him. He can still be cut in two seasons with a net $9M gain to the salary cap).

2. Over the last two years, they dead money has gone down each year.

3. They have rebuilt the OL (which was horrible) through the draft.
1. There are no more old players to sign. Attrition has taken care of that.

2. The dead money went out with the old players, again by attrition, not because of some "plan".

3. No they haven't. While I will give you that they have started this, it's not because of some plan. Our history in the draft is rock solid proof that we didn't have a plan going in. And what plan we did have we didn't hold to. RE: Floyd.

Tyron Crawford and Travis Frederick aren't better talent?

Come on, take your "everything sucks" blinders off.

I'm not saying the team is going to take the NFL by storm, but at least that some things have gotten better.
Tyrone Crawford is probably a career backup, FWIW.

Lookit, I'm not saying they don't have a plan. What I am saying is generally their plans suck. And I don't think anything has gotten better yet. In fact, we are currently down two more players from an already worst-in-the-league defense by missing Ware and Hatcher, now.

I'd like to get at least SOME starting caliber free agents in here so we don't HAVE to take DL in the first three rounds of the draft, but so far, all we've imported are backups who will be no better than the guys we were starting last year. And uh, one of them is a 30 year old, so much for a "youth movement."

If there's a plan, they can start executing it any time now. Releasing Ware isn't good enough to constitute a plan, there has to be a follow up.

If the plan is to suck and build for the future, they should continue the plan by shipping out other players as well. If the plan is to replace Ware with guys who will make us better this year.... well.... tick, tock.

And historically they haven't been very good at that, so.... I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Sadly, my guess is the plan is to add Mincey and McClain, Melton or Hatcher if they can, nobody else if they can't, then draft a DL or two and return Crawford and Bass to the Selvie/Hayden mix.

Seems like a shitty ass plan to me.

I do too, but I'm more inclined to at least give Wilbur a shot at OLB than I would be on the DL. He sucks there, he's not a fit at all.

Maybe he can be the SAM backer. Or at least chip in at that position.

If they simply add Melton and then build the D-line through the draft that would be perfect. You're not going to get stud starting D-lineman at this point. There isn't anything wrong with that plan. It's the right thing to do. The problem is we need another very strong draft in order to accomplish that.

Wilber can rush the passer as a DE but he is horrendous against the run. I think he should be used as a SLB who can also rush the passer.

The problem is, there is more in the draft at DT than at DE.

And now we need another DE. If our DE rotation is draft pick-Selvie- Mincey-Crawford.... fucking shoot me.
