Has anyone heard anything about Hooker? Could he be back in two weeks? I would think he'd have a good chance.

And I'll assume Wilson will be back also.

So this defense should look a lot different next game with Williams, Wilson at LB, and both starting safeties back.

And I almost forgot Overshown, if he can actually play by then?

This year is lost, but maybe we can at least be a little less disgusting on defense.

He is like #1 or #2 so far this season in terms of run stop rate for DT's. The guy is a beast against the run and has a track record of being a really good pass rusher as well. This is the DeForrest Buckner move all over again that the Colts made to build that Eberflus defense.

Having 4 DT's that you can rotate to keep everyone fresh is going to be great in the long run.

My main issue with the defense right now? It's the 4-5 guys in the secondary. I'm not sure there is a single one that isn't playing like trash. That includes Bland who looked totally incompetent. Now, I think this is largely on scheme and coaching. These guys have zero confidence in what they are doing.

I actually am really starting to see EZ flashing. I think he is going to continue to blossom. But I'm with you on the Fowlers, Williams, Clowney's, Kneelands of the world are just meh. But they shouldn't be bad either. But the pass rush was great against the Cardinals and it made no difference because of the pass defense.

His sack last night was one of the few bright spots. Wasn't an unblocked situation or anything like that. He just straight up abused the blocker. He had some other really great rushes but the QB was either able to escape or get the ball off in like .0 seconds.

Our secondary was absolute trash. Even Bland looked like an idiot tripping all over himself and getting pushed around by an NFL draft bust. And frankly Murray is a real problem in pass coverage. That guy has absolutely no idea how to drop back into a zone. Makes for really easy completions in the middle part of the defense. I hope we don't have to see him much more.

The defense is still horribly broken. But as much as we all believe a great pass rush makes a great defense. You still have to get competent secondary play. And right now we aren't even close to that.

But in all honesty, did you know Carson played for us last night on defense? I honestly didn't even realize it because he wasn't being abused. 28 defensive snaps. Anyway, this defense I think is going to look vastly different in terms of players after the bye week. So there is at least that. And it looks like Carson may actually be in this teams plans at corner this year.

He’s not useless washed, but this price is the price to pay for 12 sack Quinnen Williams.

Ok, so his two sack pace this year isn’t representative of his ability. His 6 and 5.5 sack years the past two seasons surely are, though.

This is a Micah Parsons payment for a guy who was older and no longer as good in that tier.

It’s not a trade we won.

And the fact that it’s the option of whichever first is higher is the real kicker. Awful. There’s not even a chance we come out with a better pick. It should have been whichever first was worse.

I don't think it's a trade we won but I don't think it's a trade we lost either necessarily.

He's like 18 months older than Parsons, he's not as elite a player as Parsons but he's not undersized either so while Parsons will probably drop off around 30 this guy will probably maintain his play an extra year or two.

I get that he's not a 25 year old stud just about to enter his prime but he's still very elite no matter which way you slice it.

I think Hooker is supposed to be back soon after the bye based on what the team has said, but who knows if that's accurate.
