MLB approves robot umps in 2026 for challenges
MLB's 11-man competition committee on Tuesday approved use of the automated ball-strike challenge system in the major leagues in 2026.www.espn.com
@Genghis Khan
Our time has come!
You shut your mouth, ya new age hippie.Just give us robots and you won't need this convoluted challenge nonsense.
It is super hard to throw consistently with no spin.Matt Waldron is throwing it but he's having a hard time sticking with the Padres. Spends a lot of time in the minors with some games here and there with the major league team.
and replace by umps who will call it by the book.
Mark Buehrle was a pitcher I really loved watching with the White Sox. Very similar in that he didn't try to throw hard. He just had a damn good strategy.It's a shame because I really enjoy the chess match in baseball but often nowadays it just seems like throw hard swing hard and that's about it.
It's one of the reasons I always really liked guys like Greg Maddux despite him being on the Braves, because that dude understood how to pitch.

Wasn't that hard to accomplish. I think thats 7 losses in a row. A few days ago I wondered if they would even win a game the rest of the way. 5 games left. Let's see if they lose out.My AAA Twins eliminate the Rangers tonight, so I've got that going for me.
Which is nice.

Yes. This needs to happen. (Sorry, Ace.)At least there is one good thing that will come out of this. Their last series is against Cleveland and losing to them will help keep the Asstros out of the playoffs.
I don't think the Rangers help is even needed as the Astros are in a free fall themselves.Yes. This needs to happen. (Sorry, Ace.)
They might have if they didn't try to put Garcia in. They sat the spark plugs (Freeman and Helman) in that first game against Houston. Put Garcia back in when he was part of the problem the whole season with the offense. Shouldn't have messed with their mojo because that offense was very good.I don't think the Rangers help is even needed as the Astros are in a free fall themselves.
I said that I didn't think they'd make the playoffs so this is going how I thought I would, I just thought the Rangers would be the ones to get that last spot.
