Can someone explain to me how in the fuck Tom Brady is in the coaching box for a team he's part owner of, including having conversations with their coaching staff multiple times a week, all while he's getting information from the teams he's doing games of each week on their game plans, personnel, etc.?

I'm sure a league that is more than happy with their clown show refs don't care but that's a massive conflict of interest.
Shuh…shuh yer mouth.

Andre Johnson > Mike Evans

I likely wouldn't vote Mike Evans into Hall of Fame. I prefer a shorter career with several elite seasons over a longer career of solid seasons. As for WRs, I'd put in Steve Smith, Torry Holt before Mike Evans.
Devil’s Advocating a bit… what about his consecutive 1000-yard season streak that was overhyped last year in a slow media cycle for the NFL? Going to get a lot of media folks remembering his ass come HOF balloting time.

Torry Holt is 40-something in all-time TDs while Evans is 9th— might also sway people who don’t want to dig too deep. I agree Holt has significantly more receiving yards per game, and more dominant seasons of 1400+ yards 2-1. Holts also has 6 seasons over 1300 while Evans has just the 1. Evans has more yards per catch, and in a weird stat a lot fewer fumbles 4 to 20. Each have a Super Bowl ring.

Holt shared the spotlight with Isaac Bruce, but then again they were in a much more pass-happy offense and with far more prolific QB’s than Evans ever had (Brady was long past his prime in Tampa). Evans was basically QB-proof, which should count for something, IMO.

But I think it comes down to Evans’ relative lack of dominant seasons, which is what the HOF is all about. Led the league in TDs once in 2023, but never in that or any other category outside of that one time. Holt led the league in yards twice and catches once.

Andre Johnson had four 1400+ seasons and led the league in catches and yards each twice. It’s a damned shame he was trapped for so long on bad teams with no QB. Talk about QB proof!

What are you concerned with? Brady doesn’t have a history of sneakily taking advantage of lowly-supervised situations. #deflategate

another modern day QB roughing penalty.

Evebtually, a defender should stand his ground and flop Dennis Rodman style when QB runs into him

All great points about Mike Evans. But when it comes down to it, if he was our #1 WR for the past decade, I think we’d year in and year out want a better #1. Doesn’t sound like a HOFer.

Amari Cooper’s two complete years here are sorta comparable to several Mike Evans seasons. Solid, but we always wanted more. Not dominant. Just cuz Evans strung together more of those seasons, doesn’t make it Hall of Fame worthy.

1,000 yards, rushing or receiving, is one of the most archaic milestones these days. 14 games? Sure. Today it’s table-stakes.

It’s not all statistical, either. But I’m not aware of anything about Mike Evans that would compel me to round up.

For the record, I’m iffy on Torry Holt and especially Reggie Wayne as HOFers, too. I’d put in Steve Smith before all

He's basically just a very good compiler.

Based on previous precedent he should probably be in after waiting for like 15 years, especially since he has a Super Bowl on top of the pure stats, but he was never a top 3 WR in the league at any point in his career.

Joe Burrow injured?

Let me guess which NFC division plays the AFC North.

Yep. NFC North. Green Bay Packers. #draftpickcurse
It all has to do with Jerry making a deal with the devil. You just knew we were gonna get fucked on these draft picks. I remember the last time we got a first round pick from Cleveland the years prior they only won four or five games, and of course the year that we had their first round pick they went 10-6 and got in the playoffs. Then after that, they went back to only winning five games the following season. Fucking hillbillies whatever they’ve done they fucked up the cowboy shit for life.

It helps Mike Evans HOF chances that Antonio Brown went insane. Also that Davante Adams momentum derailed with Raiders tenure.

Julio Jones vs Mike Evans will be interesting.

Larry Fitzgerald is a no-brainer.

Yea, when I think of the elite WR's during the time Evans was in the league he's just a tier below.

From the early part of his career Julio Jones was a clear tier above to me, Fitzgerald of course, Antonio Brown before he lost his mind, and I think even DeAndre Hopkins was better.

Then from the back half of his career I think Hill, Jefferson, Chase and Lamb are all better.

There might've been a year or two where he was a top 3 guy in the league but most years he was somewhere in the back half of the top 10.

Although all the scenarios and ball placements are a little confusing, I definitely prefer the new kickoff than the previous era of touchback after touchback.

Maybe the only improvement to the game in the past decade

I hope there’s a way to somehow bring back an unpredictable onsides.

Chargers look good. Physically built right, especially if Mack isn’t seriously hurt
I wanted Minter to be in consideration for our HC spot but there's no way a guy like him would succeed in the circus here, he's a big part of how good their defense is.

I don't think they're significantly more talented than our group overall but they're really well coached.

That's a tough, physical, deep team. We lack that kind of power on the lines. No excuses for Herbert this year.

Disagree as far as the OL goes, ours is at least equal and maybe better.

They obviously built their DL with a bunch of 2-gapping run-stuffers though, so I agree there.

I'll give it some time but that last game has really left a taste of dusgust in my mouth for Eberflus. Not saying we are super talented on defense but we are better than what we just saw Sunday. Just no adjustments and using guys against their strengths. You made Wilson a goddamn team captain and then ask him to do something he is totally incapable of. Something you would have known just by watching a little film.

Meh, I'll give it a few more weeks, I think the front 7 is mostly fine.

Definitely average aside from the DT's (and without Overshown) but not God awful like the secondary was.
