Chargers look good. Physically built right, especially if Mack isn’t seriously hurt

I think they'll win the division. Harbaugh, unsurprisingly, is doing a great job.

Meh, I'll give it a few more weeks, I think the front 7 is mostly fine.

Definitely average aside from the DT's (and without Overshown) but not God awful like the secondary was.
I don't really want to even give it a few more weeks. But right now I think about any NFL coordinator could accomplish this mess.

Disagree as far as the OL goes, ours is at least equal and maybe better.

They obviously built their DL with a bunch of 2-gapping run-stuffers though, so I agree there.
We have potential, and we should, frankly, given the draft capital and cap space spent. I really like the interior, Beebe's ankle sprain aside, but overall it's not gelling. Guyton in particular needs a lot more seasoning. Steele is just as weak, having been blown backwards on more than one occasion.

You can't be a consistent team when your RT play is a die roll each time.

I guess I'm saying flashes and potential don't equal a group ready to contend and be compared across the league's best teams, which the Chargers are clearly among.

First round pick Hampton had what, 3 YPC? Leading rusher was the QB? The Chargers physical Oline wasn't exactly bullying people.

Getting serious Nolan vibes, especially wrt the secondary
Yeah trying to do coverages that these guys have no idea how to run. I know these coaches won't just go around benching dudes, especially not after a win. But they need to make real changes on defense.

You either have to bench guys like Wilson or change the schemes and calls to not ask him to do deep coverage.

And what I'm saying is the Chargers OL is not any more talented, if anything all you're seeing is better scheme that is putting a premium on running the ball and protecting the QB with max protections and play action, but that's on coaching and not the actual players on the field.

Pipkins is an issue for them at RT as well and their interior is nowhere near as strong as ours, the only position they really have us on is LT with Alt.

Our defense was significantly worse for longer last year and ended up being pretty solid in the second half of the year.

If they're still playing like shit in late October then I'll agree that Eberflus needs to go.

The whole secondary that Eberflus inherited are poor fits for zone. Bland maybe but Diggs playing off is dumb. I am not certain Elam can deal with the same zone issues that got him run out of Buffalo.
Now do the defensive line.

It's almost like we picked a guy because we knew him, regardless of the fact that his scheme was a terrible fit for our personnel at 2 of the 3 levels.

Micah in this system would have been like asking a fish to ride a bike.

And by "almost", you mean "exactly."

Yeah I don't have patience. Just like waiting for "Blue" to earn it or Sanders to fuck up again or whatever.
