The defense is a real problem and I don't see a solution coming. Eberflus is just going to have to figure out a fucking scheme that works better because corners never even touching receivers isn't working.
It seemed like EVERYONE was open for the Giants. And of course, not much pressure on Wilson either. No worries, Clowney is on deck.

Yeah. If they dont change something before next week, Caleb might look like Tom Brady against us. Which is sad.

Another thing I hate about that bullshit tush push play... When Hurts' momentum is stopped, BLOW THE FUCKING WHISTLE!! They always give them another second or two, and that 2nd effort of pushing always helps him find a crease to fall ahead for another yard or so.
The whole fucking thing is stupid and should be banned but the league lacks the testicles to put that fucking shithole franchise in its place.

Bland made a huge difference when he returned last year and the moment he left this year.

It’s obvious the guy is critical to our defense
Bland might be our best defensive player.

I know I have said this multiple times but our safety play was really bad. Thomas and Bell are good players. It's time to give one of those guys a crack at this thing. Wilson might have been a good fit for Quinn but he is a terrible fit now.

Absolutely. I think Bland is football smart too. The safety play was maddening. They were running forward like they saw something that wasn’t there. Then had to stop, turn around and cover a guy that was literally running a route straight down the field lol. Wtf is that?

Yeah, even if the GB pick is late we'll get way more mileage in theory just grabbing the best defenders available at every draft spot in the first and second.

We desperately need some top end talent on defense.

Sending this video to the league office ONE TIME should end this, but it won’t, because they are too afraid to stand up to the league’s favorite golden boy franchise of the moment,
The Chiefs defenders were freaking out over it. I thought they were about to walk off the field and tell the refs to fuck off. It's physically impossible to stop that play when both guards are driving before the ball is even snapped.

The formation is illegal, the movement is illegal and the center starts offsides. How is it the NFL does nothing?

If I was a head coach, I'd have this video playing on a loop on an ipad, and showing it to the refs before the game with the eagles. Hell, have the fucking thing playing on the giant screen in the stadium all through pre game.

I would force a league crisis and forfeit a game to the Eagles for cheating and the rules being unenforced.

I’d give advance notice and then have the whole team walk off the field if it’s not called.

Let them fine me millions of dollars. That would put and end to this shit real fast.

Random Thoughts

Positive:

-The Giants have arguably the best DL in the league and in a game where we threw 50+ times I didn't feel like they were a huge problem, especially in the second half/OT. Guyton is still rough around the edges but he's definitely improved, and there were several times where he held up well enough 1-on-1 with Burns and Carter. If he can continue improving he may be the answer at LT after all.
-If Parsons got 47/year I feel like Aubrey deserves what, 35? 38? He's almost certainly our best player relative to their standing at their position across the league.
-Nice to see Ferguson make a few plays finally, probably his best game since 2023, hopefully this sparks him a bit.
-I appreciate the fact that Schottenheimer is really trying to integrate the RB's into the passing game, the issue is that we have the worst RB group in the league.
-Lamb/Pickens are going to be unstoppable as long as the OL can keep Dak upright.
-The run defense was strong again, obviously the opponent isn't great but I don't think it's a fluke.
-Kenneth Murray is underrated, he's nowhere near elite and has his share of fuckups, but he's about the only playmaker we have at LB right now. I think he had 2 TFL's and was in on the 4th down breakup in the 3rd after the Dak INT. Please stay healthy Overshown.
-Kenny Clark might be our best defensive player as sad as that is. Odighizuwa is a better pass-rusher but when you consider how stout Clark is against the run, I think it might be him.
-Booker still looks legit, didn't see much of anything out of Lawrence today. Still some rough edges to iron out but he's a player.
-While I hate the fact that Williams is our starter, I can't blame him for the organization's shitty decisions. I appreciate that he battles the way he does, and that he's such a good receiver out of the backfield, even if he's very limited as a starter.

Negative:

-The performance out of the secondary was reminiscent of our defense at its worst last year when they were just completely discombobulated and chasing ghosts with no obvious reasons why. I have no idea what exactly is behind it because there were so many blown coverages, but I think the biggest part of it is the DB's just don't know what they're doing in the zone-heavy stuff Eberflus likes to run. They seemed to all just be floating out in space with no real understanding of what they were doing or why. Like why are you 8 yards off on 3rd and 5 and not driving on the ball as soon as you see the WR's cutting off routes near the line to gain?
-If that assumption is true, it's not so much a physical/talent thing and more of a coaching thing, but one issue that I do think is physical/talent is with Elam. He gave up literally the only play the Eagles made downfield last week to Dotson, and then multiple times today he looked like he had no idea when the ball was coming at him. I'd consider benching him once Bland is back and rolling with Diggs/Bland on the outside and Steward on the inside, who actually looked like he might be decent.
-The Giants had a million penalties, but so did we. Some were phantom (Pickens PI in OT) but I think we had at least 3, maybe 4 on special teams, which is inexcusable and flipped the field position battle a few times.
-Watching our RB's is so painful, they all seem to be running to darkness and have no ability to make a guy miss or make plays beyond what is blocked, generally speaking. Williams somehow stumbled into a few nice runs, and he's definitely a nice checkdown option, but at the end of the day he's a good RB2, the fact that he'll probably be our top guy the rest of the year is going to be difficult to watch.
-Dak is holding the ball way too long, although overall I can't complain too much with the performance as a whole.
-They can extend Sam Williams for a 2022 Dorance Armstrong-like deal (i.e. 2/15) but they better not give him anything significant. He's a nice rotational piece if he isn't doing retarded shit, but he's not a guy you want as a long-term starter.
-Why in the fuck did they give Luepke any sort of extension when he plays about 11 offensive snaps a game?

I happen to know a RB perfect for this role. He catches the ball like a WR and has elite+ speed. His speed would really throw rhe defense off when compared to Williams who is more of a patient and strong runner. We need a RB who can hit the edges though, too often we stick to only running right up the middle. We have a guy perfect for this role.

But the coaches hate him. And Sanders turned in another 3.0 ypc performance. But he didn't fumble so I guess that is a plus.

I didn't think he made plays, per se.

Yeah, the stat sheet looks respectable and I'd take 9 for 78 every week from him, but I thought his actual performance was rather pedestrian.

He didn't gain any yards after the catch, didn't break any tackles, didn't leap over or out muscle a defender for a tough catch, etc.

In fact, there were a few plays there where I thought he should have gotten more than he did.

He just basically took what was there and nothing more.

That was a really bad contract to give out and I'm afraid it's going to keep us from trying to improve that position for the next 2 years because we won't want to spend resources on it since we gave Ferguson that extension.

Yea but the coaches have no reason to hate him, they were the ones who drafted him after all, he's probably just a bit of a chucklefuck.
