This is truly sickening.

This is one of those watershed moments that really proves how far this franchise has fallen.

The league too. That they let this shit happen is abysmal. Players should not be able to call the shots this easily.

They can when they have the talent. Melvin Gordon, not so much.

$46 mil per for a guy who disappears in big games. This absurd contract would have strangled our cap for years.
Apparently I'm one of the few who isn't pissed about it. Yeah, we should've got more in the deal. But I'll take it anyway
I’m not pissed about losing Micah. I enjoyed watching him play but didn’t enjoy his late season flame outs.
On the other hand I’ve laughed for 2 hours simply because of how stupid the Jones family is. They got bent over backwards in the trade, and they aren’t going to do shit with the #1’s they got, no matter where we end up picking. They aren’t going to suddenly decide to draft and run the team like a normal club because Micah is gone and gave them a couple picks.
This whole thing reeks of Amari Cooper because Jones can’t stand to not get his way.

Yeah the Amari Cooper thing is a good parallel.

This team doesn’t run their multi billion dollar business like a business, it’s like a family clown show.

They constantly let minor things get personal and the Cooper situation was part of the writing on the wall that they will get rid of players for personal reasons, without any regard to getting true value in return.

Let alone the fact that a player like Parsons is basically irreplaceable, that maybe they should get over it and just keep him.

Fucking clown show franchise.

Jerry at this pc sounds full senile. I'm not sure he even knows why they traded Micah.

Also, Stephen looks super uncomfortable. Don't think he was on board with this.

Maybe Simp is right that Stephen is less the problem than we thought. Pretty sure we're in full end stage Al Davis mode now.

I expect everyone who was bitching about how terrible Parsons was against the run to be applauding right now. But that was never true. We lost what I think is really our only star defensive player. Just sucks.

Sorry Eberflus, good news is you have a built in excuse now. I guess we will all see if EZ is as good as we hoped.

The fact that a player can sit out games and fake an injury is a no go for me. He was under contract and the fact that the NFL allowed this is very bad. The players now run the league. Stephen didn’t not want this to go down like this. He is covering for the old man.

Fucking Schott doesn't have a chance.

This team is already probably ready to pack it in, because if the players didn't know this team wasn't serious about winning, they sure af know it now.

Hardest to find commodity after QB and WR, tied with LT, IMO.

But it is one position, unlike those others, you can do by committee. You don’t have to be the very best at it to win games. Dallas was top five at it last year, for example, and they couldn’t stop anybody or beat anybody real. Same with the Raiders and Cincy
I'm curious to see what the defense looks like under Eberflus, he doesn't need a bunch of elite players to cobble together a good defense.

In his first season with the Colts they were 10th in the league in scoring and 12th in turnovers, their best players were Shaquille Leonard (as a rookie), Malik Hooker, Kenny Moore, Jabaal Sheard, Margus Hunt and Denico Autry.

In 2020 they were again 10th in scoring and 5th in takeaways, these were their best players: DeForest Buckner, Shaquille Leonard, Grover Stewart, Kenny Moore, Justin Houston (at 31), Denico Autry, Khari Willis, Julian Blackmon and Bobby Okereke.

In 2021 they were 9th in scoring and 2nd in takeaways with largely the same group, plus Al-Quadin Muhammad playing a big role in place of Houston.

Those are some pretty spare pieces outside of Leonard, Buckner and Stewart, and I think what we have matches up pretty closely and could even be better.

Will they actually play well? Probably not because this organization is a shit show, but Eberflus has done well with so-so talent before and I don't think it's impossible that this group is in the top half of the league.

If we just got Clark in a vacuum I'd be modestly happy with the idea of him and Osa on the inside. But we shipped away possibly the best defensive player in football. Sort of makes it feel like shit.
I don’t think Parsons was anywhere near the best defensive player in the NFL because of the way the Cowboys used him.

Now, he may go to Packers and be used correctly and used with guys beside him who allow him to rise to the best player moniker

With or without Parsons the opener against Philly ends the same. We all know it won't end well for us.
After the game, get ready for it "We win that one if we had Parsons" and similar ignorance. This team has way too many holes and question marks in the first place. There will be plenty of legitimate blame to go around.
