I am seriously considering just this. Meat in the damn supermarkets are overpriced and gross.
If you have the freezer space I highly recommend doing it.

Choice ribeyes are $15 per lb at Costco, ground beef is I think $5 per if I remember correctly.
I think that's what it is at Sams. Can't remember the Prime price. I'll occasionally get one of the discounted choice t-bones about to expire for $10.99/lb, and the discounted Prime is I think $15/lb. Organic ground beef is $5.50/lb or so.

We split a cow with my brother 6 months ago, bout time to do it again.

Value and quality aren't gonna be replicated at any grocery store.

If you're interested, check out the Bearded Butchers channel on teh Yootoobs. They explain just about every one of those cuts of meat.

When I was a kid my parents split a cow with the next door neighbor. I watched the butcher come out and shoot that poor bastard in the head and load him up into their truck and take him away.

Since we grew our own vegetables and fruits, and raised/butchered our own rabbits, trips to the grocery store were few and far between for the next year and a half or so.

You raised and ate rabbits?

What kind of fruits did you grow?

Wait, you're from Oregon or something, right?
