If it were me I'd sign Keenan Allen or Amari Cooper.

Neither is overly dynamic at this point but they're high floor options that can make us more competitive if none of the younger guys improve. I'm not interested in giving up a round 2/3 pick for someone like Pickens given his off-field stuff, I might consider a 3rd for Pierce, Johnston or Sutton but I don't think those would be slam dunk trades.

I wouldn't go higher than a 5 for Pickens. As you said, the character stuff is a big deal, plus he's in the final year of his deal so you're going to have to figure that part out (and I probably would let someone else pay him), and on top of that he has 1 thousand yard season so far (granted his QBs aren't helping him) and has had 50 or 60 receptions every year which is nothing special.

I doubt Pittsburgh would take it so I agree with just signing Cooper or Allen.

It's kind of a no-brainer.

He was a Pro Bowler in 2023, last year was kind of all over the place with the trade, he's only 31.

I'd guess he'd give us at least as good a season as Cooks did in 2023, throw in a more established Tolbert and we could have a decent trio.

He was a really good mentor for CeeDee also. Maybe he can mentor some of our other young guys.

This is why we needed to draft someone. We don't want to pay 2 receivers at the same time. We never have. So anyone you trade for is essentially a very short term answer.

Golden or McMillan for example would have been here 5 years on a rookie deal. By then Lamb's contract is up. And the reason some of these young receivers might be available is because they are on the last year of their deal and they know they dont want to sign them long term.

It wouldn't prevent me from trading for a guy. But it sure as shit would limit the value I'd give up. Which is why a fourth for Mingo is still shocking to me. And even crazier is you look at those guys going into their fourth year and the production they have had. Mingo and Tolbert are going in to their final year's and haven't done shit.

Not to mention the chemistry with Dak has always been there. Hell it was their the second Cooper stepped on the field.

Cooper returning would be great from our perspective, but there would need to be some sort of reckoning, right? I mean they did not part on the best terms

Amari leaving was a Fat Mike and Sanjay thing? I thought they played it off as a Jerry/Covid thing. Or was that just the cover story to keep the heat off of Fat Mike because Jerry doesn't give a fuck what people say about him.

Or are they selling it this way so that the Cowboys can bring him back and pretend like there was no harm no foul? Like hey Amari, I always loved you, we dumped that lardass Mike who hated you, please come back, it was all Mike's fault.

Which if that's what they are doing, I don't care. I'd feel a lot better with Cooper here no matter how we have to sell it.

I could maybe see the team trying to sell it this way, but why would Bobby Belt? He's a radio guy, not a team employee.
